<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">the chris paul thing was a comparison to your statement. and kg is one of the greatest pf's of all time, ill debate this with anyone somewhere else. the savior thing was about pressure. garnett wasnt the main option either, not even close. gugliotta and doug west and sam mitchell.were clearly higher options. same with dwight being picked with more help, pressure wise. kg had an enormous amount of pressure, similar to dwight, but kg had no one to help him with it that knew his situation, dwight had many. i just found your statement insulting. dwight, may become a perenial all-star. hasnt proven anything yet. he is a great rebounder, and that is it. i love his game, and hope he becomes something special, but lets not crown him better than one of the best ever. and kg made the 60 greatest players list, so he is one of the best ever, that isnt a debate.</div> Insulting? How is comparing Dwight to KG insulting? Are people not allowed to compare players to KG? Swish isn't comparing KG and Dwight right now. I honestly don't think comparing them is insulting to KG, that just shows that a player who was picked #1 is compared to him and could be at Kg's level, that would make me happy that KG is so good that someone is getting compared to him. I can't wait for the "next Dwight Howard" comparisons. He is saying that he thinks that Dwight <u>could</u> be at the level of KG or better. My projected stats for Dwight is 23 ppg 14-15 rpg and 2-3 bpg. That's close to KG's level. The whole situation thing isn't really that big of a deal. No one knew what they were getting out of KG since it had been awhile, so he didn't have as much pressure as Dwight Howard did picked #1 2 years after Amare Stoudemire had a great rookie year and the year after Lebron, so expectations were HUGE for Dwight and he has definetely lived up to them so far. It's not enough to say that KG had a better 2 years then Dwight.
the insulting part is that people said, he WILL be at least as good or better. saying that a 2nd year player will be at least as good as one of the best ever is a little insulting. i like the comparison and hope that dwight becomes that good, i just hate when people predict the future.
Is it insulting to Michael Jordan when every young player gets comopared to him (LeBron, Wade, Penny, Stackhouse, VC, Kobe, Grant Hill)? I'd be pretty happy.
its not the comparison. it is WILL BE AS GOOD as like a worse case scenario. like dwight will be at least as good as kg.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">its not the comparison. it is WILL BE AS GOOD as like a worse case scenario. like dwight will be at least as good as kg.</div> Oh I see what you mean. It's not a worst case scenario at all. If he could perform at the same level as KG then that would be a BEST CASE SCENARIO in my mind. A worst case scenario would be someone like Stromile Swift.
Here is an awesome article about Howard, LeBron, and Wade. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Why in the world were the Detroit Pistons willing to offer Ben Wallace, a player with a limited skill set (no offense), a four-year, $49.6 million deal, even if the soon-to-be 32-year-old would likely be an overpaid shell of himself in its final season or two? Not that it mattered, because the Chicago Bulls quickly trumped that bloated deal with an even richer offer, for four years and nearly $60 million, one that Wallace accepted Monday night according to multiple media reports. Wallace's addition thrusts Chicago, if you can believe it, back into championship contention. That move is something, but it still isn't as gutsy as the Boston Celtics plotting to trade half its young prospects to the Philadelphia 76ers for Allen Iverson in a roll of the dice that he and Paul Pierce immediately can jell, share the ball and win big. Or, perhaps, even as surprising as traditionally sleepy franchises such as the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors quickly swapping young talents T.J. Ford and Charlie Villanueva to improve their clubs immediately. Why in the world is all of this happening? The answer, which makes perfect sense, is threefold: 1. LeBron James. 2. Dwyane Wade. 3. Dwight Howard. You know how they are always talking about windows for sports teams ? as in the window to win a championship is about to close? Well, in the Eastern Conference at least, everyone who doesn't have James, Wade or Howard (Cleveland, Miami, Orlando, respectively) is about to have their window close; if not next season, then certainly by 2008-09 and beyond. James, 21, Wade, 24, and Howard, 20, are not just three good young players with bright futures. They are generational basketball talents, guys so good, so determined, so clutch that it is impossible not to envision them dominating the NBA (and certainly the East) for years and years to come.</div> Source

I will however say that Dwight will be better than Bosh when both are in their primes.
