Howard + (Player from Jordan trade) would seem to be > Jordan And he's (kind of) a better free throw shooter.
Only sign Howard if he comes cheap for two seasons, with team option second season, AND, he dunks Trump over his wall onto the Mexican side, hitting nothing but cactus.
I selected the last option, but my definition of "cheap" is 20-25 mil for 2-3 yrs guaranteed, 4th year team option.
Did you watch him? He has no moves. He can dunk. That's it. He's Mason Plumlee, only a lot better at the same things that Mason does. He can't shoot. He has no back-t0-the-basket game. He can run the floor and he can dunk. That's it.
Is he an upgrade over Plumlee as a starting 5? Yeah, probably. Definitely stronger and, at least in the past, a more polished post scorer. Injuries and attitude worry me. Is he someone I want the Blazers to target in free agency? Nope. Not unless they get turned down by all of the hotter girls at the dance. If that's the case, I guess taking him as a place holder for the cap space might be a decent move.
If he reall did wreck the Lakers and Rockets, then I think we owe him a serious debt of gratitude. Sign him!
I don't understand how people believe Howard wouldn't help the Blazers. Or think he's washed up... For everything he's not with the Rockets. The Rockets were still better defensively with Howard on the court, than they were without him. He's not the defensive monster he was with the Magic... But he's still a legit defensive anchor. The Rockets problems aren't only Howard. He takes some blame and should... But it's not only him. I also don't understand how people believe Howard ruined the Lakers & Rockets. It's like people want to ignore the other problems those teams have... I don't like Howard for reasons not basketball related. But he makes the Rockets better. I believe he's going to Dallas.
Has Howard declined medically that much in the past two years, or is it psychological? Could the right motivation return him to the form that he had in his first season in Houston?
A little overboard there. Dwight howard isnt the player he was on the magic, but he still would be quite an upgrade defensively than plumlee.
I personally believe it's more mental than medical... Especially considering during Howard's career he's missed more than 11 games during a season twice. It's something I give him credit for.. He does seem willing to play through injuries. Howard takes blame for not being professional, and not doing HIS homework... But it certainly seemed like from day 1, Houston has had questions about the effort some players they have wanted to give on both ends of the court.
