Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... So in your mind the Blazers front office isn't a joke? Because I know people here in Houston just laugh when we get into the subject of front offices. I would venture to guess that if you went on realgm or something and asked which front office over the last few years is the biggest joke, Portland would either win, or be right there
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... Texas is another planet. I won't get into politics, but the state is a joke here in the Northwest.
Were you laughing it up when they brought in Wesley Matthews for only a MLE? How about when they moved Joel & Cunningham for Gerald Wallace or Blanky & Outlaw for Camby? How about when they resigned LA for what now seems like an absolute steal? Those are 4 great moves for current starters that some jokers mocked at the time. people are free to hold whatever opinion they choose even on planet Houston. Mine is that Portland's front office has assembled a solid club that I enjoy watching play a great deal. You seem to whine about every coach and GM Portland has had often claiming the masses are with you. They aren't, sorry my guess is the laughter you're hearing isn't with you STOMP
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... I am Oregonian through and through, but LOL at Oregon making fun of any state. Especially Texas
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... Always amazing when this stuff goes unpunished. Seems like a personal attack out of no where, but oh well?
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... Houston, who hasn't made the playoffs in two years and then fired Rick Adelman, even though they had a winning record both years. That Houston? Aren't they the joke at this point? Portland has made the playoffs with a guest star filling the GM spot the past two years.
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... What's up with you this year? Trying out my victim card from 2008? Edited - oh shit, that was probably a personal attack by me, even though I attacked myself too. ATTACK!!!
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... Would you get over it already???? Sheesh, are you really that butt hurt that two obvious trolls got banned? They both had posting styles that consisted of constantly baiting other posters. The board is better off without them - and it had nothing to do with the content they posted. It is actually possible to criticize the team without baiting other posters. The mods explained this to you already. What part of it don't you understand? BNM
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... IDK. the OP's thread title really does allow for some serious trolling.... jus' sayin.
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... Look at the thread title. Mediocre has a point there. As for baiting, I wish people would expand and use more words to describe what they don't like instead of one word, "baiting," or something we all do when posting, "trying to provoke a response." I think what they mean is consistently writing critical posts that are too brief to say anything of substance. Mediocre doesn't do that. Readers get bored with the repetition and get bored with the person writing them. They make up excuses to get rid of him. I write a lot of criticism, but hopefully I stay entertaining and nonrepetitious, so as to not bore readers. That's the whole key to not earning too many enemies. Edit: Ya beat me while I was writing the above.
oh boo hoo. Bitch and whine constantly and then throw out the victim card. You want us to throw a pity parade? not addressing any of my counters to your laughable front office nonsense speaks for itself STOMP
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... Just leave Miserable Man alone
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... I remember just recently the talk was the Blazers won't be able to sign anyone because PA's hardline stance during the lockout. After the lockout the Blazers sign Crawford for less money than another team offered and signed Kurt Thomas who was pursued by other teams Probably the same people who thought Blazers coudn't sign anyone are the same people who thinks management is a joke.
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... [QUOTEThe problem in getting them remains the Blazers track record — they fired two good and well respected GMs in Kevin Pritchard and Rich Cho within 10 month of each other. In both cases reportedly because they didn’t mesh well enough with owner Paul Allen, not because of how well they did their jobs. Then a four month search that led nowhere. This looks from the outside like a team in front office disarray.][/QUOTE] First thing that came up when I googled http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....blazers-to-restart-gm-search-from-square-one/ If you don't think tey are a laughing stock for firing Pritchard on draft night, and letting him draft for us anyway. Firing Cho because he and Paul weren't besties, Then not being able to find any GM that is willing to take this job in time for the season to start, then let's agree to disagree
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... Again, personal attack that will go unscathed.
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... Is he playing the boy who cried wolf again? Awwww
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... Allen fired Cho because Cho wanted to blow it up Sound decision by Allen
Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend.... I know the management has an impact on the product, but ultimately I cheer for the team on the court, not the team in the front office. And, right now, the team on the court looks pretty good. The team in the font office did a good job filling the holes left by Brandon Roy and Greg Oden. Are the players we got "better"? No, but they will contribute more on the court this season than Roy and Oden did last season. We have a deeper bench this year than last and a roster full of unselfish team players. Crawford, Thomas and Smith were all bargains on inexpensive short term contracts. So, to anyone bitching about the front office, how about you start watching the team on the court and commenting on their play? I don't see how you can like the product on the floor and hate the front office at the same time. BNM
