Ebi never came to Arizona, man if he did, they would have won it for sure last year.
As for Onobun, I think he might be redshirted this year. They got too many players just sitting on the bench.
    PG- Shakur, Prince, Dan Dillion
    SG-Rodger(plays both), McClellan, Williams, Verdejo
SF-Hassan Adams(plays PF when needed) Fendi Obobun, McClellan (can play here too)
PF-Radenovic, Tangara, Brielmaier, Fox( not sure if he got 1 more year left?)
C- Walters, Okwandu(might take a while to get in the system)

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Hunter:</div><div class="quote_post">I think you are overrating your Wildcats a little - just a little but thats ok because everyone overrates their own team.

Now onto the Houston players, Juwann McClellan and Fendi Onobun. I have seen both of the play numerous times(I live in the Houston area). First off, Juwann McClellan is good however he is no Salim. If you watched him in HS - he got most of his points off of sheer athleticism alone and not so much because of his shooting. I watched a tab it of Arizona bball this year and never really saw McClellan show those flashes of dominance that we saw out of Salim all year long. McClellan is not as good of a shooter or scorer as Stoudamire in any way, shape, or form.

The player from Houston that you have coming in next year is Fendi Obobun. The guy is 6-6 220. He has extremely long arms and is a monster on the boards. Its as if the ball is just swallowed up in his grasp. He has range out to the three pointer but plays his best basketball facing the basket. He has a few low post moves however Lute Olsen will need to work with him to develop some more if he wants to play well at the college level.

Arizona sure has gotten a lot of talent over the past few years thanks to Hal Pastner having complete domination over the Houston recruiting class(aka Houston Hoops). Ebi. McClellan, Onobun with Nic Wise coming next year....not bad.</div>

Well, you have to realize that no one is asking Jawann to step right into Salim's place. In fact, none of the players you mentioned will likely even start on Arizona next season. I agree that J_Ray overrated them a little by saying they're a top four team, but they'll still be pushing the top ten next year. Their biggest challenge right now is their frontcourt. They have all the potential in the world to have a dominant frontcourt with Okwandu and Tangara, but at this stage they're both very raw and need a lot of work.

As for Arizona winning the title last year with Ebi, it's pointless to debate. There are a lot of teams who have lost much greater talent than Ebi. Just to name one, the University of Memphis would have had Amare Stoudamire, Dajuan Wagner, Qyntel Woods, Kendrick Perkins, Darius Washington, Sean Banks, and Rodney Carney last season. Even if Arizona did have Ebi, I don't think they could have beaten North Carolina. The TarHeels were as stacked as you'll ever seen an NCAA team.

Dang, Memphis are the only school that goes after high school players going pro. Didn't they try to get Lebron too? Hey if they had an age limit like the NFL, Arizona would have had Iguodala too. The only thing I'm trying to say is, at the end of the year Arizona will have their new players some experience, and it isn't like Lute Olson is the worst coach in the world, and won't teach Tangara and Okwandu anything. Look at all the players Lute Olson has brought in that wasn't a top prospect that has become successful. EX. Arenas, Frye, etc. So they won't win it all but they'll make a run in the tourney, how many college teams really have a tall dominant big man, 6'8" is an average college PF in division 1. So the frontcourt might not be a problem against some teams.
