Early Signing Period Thread (Nov. 12 - Nov. 19)

Tomorrow could be a great day for a number of schools. I will try to keep up to date on the big names that sign early and post some info in here before I update the Commit list for each conference.

Feel free to also keep this thread up to date with any recruits that sign in the early period, as well as your comments.

Hopefully Memphis stanches a top recruit soon. I'm anxious to see this recruiting class seeing how many players have us on their top schools.

Dane Miller said he's going to sign with Rutgers. Good news, because some thought he was wavering a few months ago. Kid's going to be a stud. A 6'7" kid shouldn't be able to handle the ball as well as he does.

John Wall and Xavier Henry are expected to sign in the spring. Not ground breaking news, because this was pretty much common knoweldge but just putting it out there.

Miller looks good and boy Rutgers sure is putting together some nice recruiting classes. They should have a very nice 1-3 next year.

Memphis could end up with a spectacular class this spring, but should Coleman, Dennis, and Dodson sign early that is the foundation to a top 10 class already.

Im not sure what is going to happen with Wall and Henry, because things might become a little more complicated this spring

Kansas, while grabbing Johnson and Robinson, pretty much makes their recruiting class top 10. I would like to grab Xavier or John tho.

I really like Johnson and if they can land Xavier that would be one hell of a three man class, not to mention who else they sign.

I have a feeling Memphis would be 4th on Cheek's list behind Nova, Kansas, and Rutgers. I personally think he's Nova bound regardless of what happens with other guys like Henry. At this point, he's definitely Nova's to lose.

However, Dom likes us a lot, and the longer he waits, the better it is for Rutgers. He wants to get to the NCAAs, but with the way this team is currently constructed (ie: all the talent is either at the soph or frosh level), we'd probably only get to the NIT his frosh year. If we have a huge turnaround this season and get to the NIT a year ahead of schedule, he'd consider Rutgers much more than he currently is.

Greg Echenique
Hamady N'Diaye

That's a nasty starting bunch. Echenique looked awesome in our scrimmage against Caldwell on Monday. Granted, it was against Caldwell, but he still looked good for a freshman. N'Diaye had a triple double with 10 blocks.

If Rutergs lands Cheek I think they have a good shot at being a tourney team, and should be a lock to get there his soph year.

When its all said and done I seriously doubt he ends up at Memphis.
