Obesity is a huge problem for all of society. Poor or not poor. It starts with parent(s) educating and sitting example of the benefits of exercise and not being inactive by being addicted to video games or the net. I have two kids with families that may be considered poor but they are active and health conscious for themselves and their kids. It working
You can't out exercise a bad diet. Poverty encourages a bad diet, especially here in the US. And especially when you're old and take longer to recover from injuries. Education is certainly part of it, but a better education will result in lower poverty rates as well. I'm all for improving the education of our children.
You can't burn more calories regularly than you get from a bad diet. Americans don't have the time for that, largely because they have to work so much to avoid poverty or try to climb out of it.
