Carter is clearly a good defender, when properly motivated. He was infinitely better than RJ last season.

A couple of comments: top to bottom, this will be a better defensive squad than last year. In recent games, the off-season veteran acquisitions have all been injured--some, like Najera, will be strong defensive presences. This, in turn, has forced players like Gill, Ager, Hodge, etc. to play more minutes than they will in the regular season (Ager hasn't been bad, though). Carter, also, has played roughly ten to 15 minutes per game fewer than he will in the regular season.

Also, BOONE hasn't been able to play. Don't think that hasn't made a difference.

This team will be very erratic for the first six weeks. The question is how they will hold up emotionally. If they can keep their focus, and keep their confidence up, they will start to play better in mid December, and I think can stil achieve 35-40 wins. I am pencilling them in for 39, in part because I think they are very deep, and they should be able to withstand the normal amount of injuries better than some of the other teams they will be competing against (other than Vince, of course).

Ryan Anderson is a nice back up to have for Yi, I also think you could play CDR as a point with Carter for a little bit. Najara can guard multiple positions, so yeah we certainly have more depth than usual.

I could really use an upgrade at the starting sf and a reserve vet center would be nice, but I don't see it happening unless we move something bigger than Stro + picks. but that's neither her nor there.

I think that the morale level should stay high as long as the leadership is confident and committed. Youth has everything to gain here and that should keep things afloat.

Yeah last year but the three years before what do say there.

VC is not a good defender. He always loses his man and is always point to someelse to help him out.

Three years ago, Shaq was the best player in the league. I think I should go sign him to a 25million per contract.

I didnt say three years ago. I said the three years before that.

I dont get people. RJ is a way better defender then VC. Yeah he had a crappy defensive year, but he wasnt the only one that did bad defensively last year. VC is good player but dont exaggerate.

The Nets play TEAM defense and try to send players to the help defender. What you think is a mistake is part of the system. Now if the help isn't there or is late to rotate it looks bad. Don't get me wrong, he makes mistakes out there and isn't a shut down defender, but he isn't that bad.

I dont believe in mediocrity. Either he is good or not. Isnt that bad is just not good. SUPERSTAR needs to play VERY GOOD DEFENSE. I have accept NO competitive nature - VC is who he is. Now you want me to accept mediocre defense. When do I stop accepting and start calling it as it is.

So Zach Randolph and Richard Jefferson are at equal levels of defensive suck?
