And yet it happened [IMG]</div>

No because everybody knew that Shaq demanded a team and the Lakers were running out of options to get rid of him. They got back some young talent and a decent big man, they could of got more but It was still a decent trade. This one however is terrible, I can't believe so many people are making a big deal out of a trade that will not go down and has likely not even been offered.

If Shaq hadn't stated he wanted out of L.A, yes I would of laughed but once L.A kept stalling, you knew they wouldn't get full value back. Therefore the trade that went down didn't surprise me when I first heard about it. Odom is stacked with potenial and is the closest thing to Magic, so from planning for the future... the Lakers did quite well.

This deal on the other hand is totally different, mainly due to the fact Jones is on the way down.

Although I do agree with your statement, it doesn't say much. Tony Delk once dropped 51 and he's been burried on the bench the past few years.

    I heard of the trade.

    PF-Udonis Haslem
    SF- James Posey
    SG- Dwyane WAde
    PG- Jason Williams</div>

That is a great line-up, I'd love it, and I'm not even a Heat fan. And D-wade could also go back to the 1 once in awhile, like if Williams gets tired or injured, or is on the bench.

An abosolute steal for the Heat, bad for Grizzlies. Wade and Williams would make a sweet backcourt with an aspiring star in Posey and you got a decent big man that's only going to get better in Udonis Haslem, and the most dominant (although aging) big man in the L in Shaq. Great starting five if you ask me.

SHaq is on his way down too, not as close to it as Eddie ,but still is. Odom is not the closest thing to MAgic right now either. If you mean right now who the closest thing to MAgic is I'd say Jason Kidd and he plays very deffernt than Magic. Shaun Livingston is porbably going to be the next MAgic though.

Also plannigng for the future as you say the Lakers just got an even older center named Vlade "Flopper" Divac who is about 36 I think correct me if I'm wrong.

Even on the way down, Shaq still dominates this league and likely will for two more seasons. When people talk about being the next Magic, It's not only all-round numbers It's the abilty to play more than one position. LO can play the 1, 2, 3 and the 4. Thats why he is compared to Magic and I'm glad to finally see him getting his act togeather.

Yes the Lakers added an aging center but overall It's clear they are trying to get younger and have players that would suit Kobe Bryant's style of play. Kobe, Odom, Butler, Rush, Walton is good young talent. Obviously the Lakers won't be winning any titles any time soon but they have depth and a nice core.

Yea, but the Lakers aren't asking Vlade to score 30pts & grab 20 rebs a night. He'll probably play 20 mins a game & be used mainly to run a pick & roll or just dishout good passes. The Lakers have insured they have another great team for years to come. They are not relying on Vlade.

I think a bigger issue is how Shaq approaved trading EJ out of Miami and it hasn't gone through yet, he should keep his mouth shut until the deal goes through. Do you think this has hurt there relationship?
