The way I look at it is that she will recover (thank goodness) and we have identified eight criminals who society can now at least keep a close eye on. I wish every one of these morons videotaped their crimes.
I saw the local (NY) Fox morning show do a piece on this yesterday, and they had a lawyer in studio saying that if she were prosecuting them, she would (try to) try them as adults and not as minors. Now I have no idea if that will actually happen, but it would be nice. The girls face got pretty messed up but she should have a full recovery. She's apparently a junior that's supposed to graduate early, but now isn't going back to school because of this, opting for home schooling instead. Apparently when the girls were taken into custody, they were joking about how they wouldn't be able to go to the beach now.

Theres no ball kicking or hair pulling. I'm of the belief that women have a higher pain threshold than men but damn they do some fucked up stuff to each other. It probably doesn't help that girl fights take longer because they are less capable of delivering a haymaker due to lack of strength as well as poor technique. With dudes fights rarely last more than 30-60 seconds because full grown men can do a lot more damage.
I think those girls deserve at least 3 months in prision. They are 17 and some are 18, so they knew what they were doing and planned the entire thing out with lookouts. The two guys should probably get 1 month and probation for being in on the entire thing. What is wrong with those kids? I dont rob a store and video tape it and put it on youtube. It is common sense, 1. you dont gang beat a girl 2. you dont video tape it. I thought it was funny when the one girl said dont hit the cabinet. They are worried about hurting a cabinet when they are beating up a girl. Wow!

This wasn't a fight. The girl only tried to defend herself. She didn't through any punches. She tried leaving but they wouldn't let her. And I don't think she was just invited over. From what I read they forced her to go. The girls that did it probably will never care. They will just have daddy buy the best lawyer around and get them out of it.
the girls yelled more about protecting the furniture then anything else besides beating her, this is awful but sadly, not unexpected

Not only is this assault, its planned out and they wouldn't let the girl leave. the chick who got beat's lawyer could claim it was life threatening as well and depending on how he handles it I tihnk some of them could be looking at 6+ months. Its one thing to get into a random fight with someone. Its entirely another when 8 people plan to beat the shit out of one (its a girl too which has to be taken into consideration in a court) and prevent her from leaving.
