Seems like there are clerical and machine/computer errors in voter ballots every election year dating back decades now...anyone come across a credible source quantifying this year vs others?

    there likely won't be

but there will be thousands of tweets and posts trying to make it seem like there is massive fraud in mail-in ballots all over the nation. That only serves trump, so the agenda is obvious

what's that old saying: a lie races half way around the world before the truth has tied it's shoes....?

there is a fucking pandemic. Elections offices all around the nation are dealing with a massive demand for mail ballots at the same time they are under-staffed and dealing with gutted budgets. There are going to be fuck-ups because we are terrible idiots in this country about protecting the foundations of our democracy.

there will be, every day, stories about "somebody" finding discarded ballots. 5 here, 8 there....but we will be unlikely to know any context around these stories. So far, when claims of fraud have been investigated, there is essentially no there, there

    ^^^ Yup, seems obvious to me this is a Trump scam...But I've yet to get an answer to my earlier question;

Why does Trump and his sheep arbitrarily assume that any voting irregularities/bogus ballots, will be done by Dems only and not Reps?

Also, anyone else notice that these supposed ballots always seem to be conveniently left out in the open?

...seems to me that someone WANTED them found.

I don’t think that they think that all. I think they believe that vote by mail itself will increase the number of voters who cast ballots, particularly among voting groups such as the poor and younger voters who are more likely to support the Democrats. They’re trying to suppress those votes by complaining about phantom election fraud.

Not sure which part of my post you're referring to...but my main point is why is it that Trump thinks only Dems would cheat?

And all the uproar is a red herring IMO, I mean there are safeguards to insure that the same person can only vote once anyway.

In fact, this whole thread is a red herring.

Planting ballots to be found would be a very cheap and effective weapon for the GOP in blue states....it's what they want to portray to prop up the "fake election" spin....they basically frame everything as fake news, deep state, swamp, crooked dems.....that's the playbook...lie away as long as you get the public looking at squirrels. Nixon was a master of this until he got caught...Trump is not a master disguising lies

My point is that that's not what he's worried about. He just doesn't want vote by mail because he believes, probably with good reason, that the ease of mail-in balloting will result in more ballots being cast from voting groups who will tend to vote for Biden instead of them just staying home from the polls because it's too much effort/risk. The cheating is a non-factor and he knows it. He just uses it to gin up opposition to vote-by-mail.

I agree 100%..maybe I didn't articulate it properly, but I was trying to say essentially the same thing. IF illegal voting/ballots were a genuine occurrence and concern, his followers could also cheat and cast phony votes.

How did they “receive” votes on Oct 9 when they have not mailed ballots out yet? If nobody voted then they cannot receive votes.

Gerrymandering largely happens at 10 year intervals, following the census. It doesn't make sense to discount 2010 gerrymandering. It's like saying "show me sometime when the sun ever rose in the east since this morning".

the election office didn't receive any completed ballots. What happened was a staffer coded in the wrong setting on a machine that sorted ballots into the proper envelopes, and those ballots were mailed.

it was a mistake that will be easily corrected
