I'd like to see the abolition of conferences, and divisions; like every other non-USA sports league in the universe. Every team plays every team twice, once at home, once away. The top 16 teams make the playoffs. It's comical to divide a league by geography when jet planes exist.
Refs that don't totally blow, and consistent foul calling. No other sport that I'm aware of has the issues that the NBA has with unfair reffing.
I'd like that, though only having 58 games in a season (29 x 2) seems paltry. I guess though you could add a U-23 roster for each team and have them play another 58 games, too.
I'd like to see front and rear wings like in Formula 1. I think the players will look fabulous if they are more aerodynamic. Also, it's a great place for advertisements.
There use to be a 6' and under basketball league in Portland back in the 80's as I played several years on a team. Of course there was some fudging as I am 6' tall and there were definitely players taller than me. Very competitive and a fun game that wasn't dominated by a freak big guy that was more taller than talented and could dominate just because he was taller than anyone else.
After one period of OT, a team designates one player as defender and the other as offensive. The offence gets the ball and dribbles full court with the defender able to pick up the offensive player at any point once he crosses half court. 3-point shot applies, as do fouls (1+1 rule for fouls shots). Each team gets (5) attempts with different offensive players (like hockey) and each team can change defenders every time as well. Shoot out NBA
Sons, but not daughters? Australia is clinging to archaic forms of sexism despite the fact that Australian Football is clearly a sport designed to be played by girls.
Well I didn't mention it because NBA teams, and WNBA teams are separate organisations, but there is a father/daughter rule. Ten AFL clubs have a women's team, a club has first draft rights to the daughter if their father has played one game for the club. The difference in game requirements is because the women's competition is only two seasons old. Once AFLW has been going for more years both mother/son, and mother/daughter rules will be introduced.
