Eli Apple, a cornerback out of Ohio State, was selected by the Giants with the No. 10 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft on Thursday night.

It’s the first time that the Giants have taken a cornerback in the first round since 2011, when the Giants took Prince Amukamara 19th overall.

Apple can jam receivers in press and match them step-for-step in man coverage, but he’ll need to make sure his physical nature doesn’t draw flags at the NFL level.

You build a championship defense with steals and the 2-6 rounds. Everybody knows that. You can't have enough good corners because all everybody does is pass. With fat ass Snacks with Hankins and hopefully a better JPP and Vernon, the front 4 will be very hard to run against. So, I don't have a problem with this pick. I like to trade down but if you saw the morons the Raiders and Falcons took at 14 and 17, no freakin way this guy was getting pass them. So, it's OK. The 2nd to 4th round picks are what will make this draft IMO.
