Kanter is the one they'll pick on in pnr if they play together, leaving Zach to chase / help and recover vs stretch 4's and wings. We all saw how well that worked out early in the Zach w/ Meyers minutes, which forced Terry to switch their defensive positions to allow Zach to do what he's good at (guard pnr, protect the rim).

Not sure you'll be able to that with Kanter.

    1) I don't bet on here. You know that.

    2) I never mentioned a bet, so that's weird you thought it was betting-worthy.

    3) We don't have a solid team that can withstand the playoffs. If we do in fact win a playoff series, I'll be very surprised.

    4) There's a lot of players that need to go and upgrades that need to be made before we're a contender for anything past the first and second round.

I didn’t say anyone was complaining about LaMucus wearing #12 (though I certainly did early in my tenure here). Just saying it was an outrage (for me anyway) that Aldridge wore the number of one of the classiest acts to ever wear a Blazer uni. I have no problem with Kanter wearing it....or any other number as long as he helps the team.

no exaggeration...somebody else said it even though I'm assuming it was tongue-in-cheek (what's the keyboard version of that?)....much like my '14' that you went ballistic about

like TBpup said, nobody is saying these were bad moves or that they weren't significant upgrades over the Blazers players moved out. But they also aren't the kind of moves that will change the trajectory of the team in any significant fashion...the needle barely blipped

I love the move. I'd love the move even more if we had beaten either Dallas or OKC. Or just Dallas, honestly. I'm still pretty bummed by what I've seen the last two games and we get the Warriors tonight. Let's just get past this game, the All Star break, and see what happens. I think we have talent. I think we have a really decent amount of talent. Adding Kanter obviously helps. But that talent I speak of lost to fucking Dallas. God, I can't get past that game....I joined the fire Stotts camp after the Dallas game so I'm reluctant to get too excited I think is the issue.

I like this move. Kanter is one of the most talented offensive bigs in the league. He and good improve our bench.

Let's just say that Lillard, McCollum, and Nurk are our 3 best players. Where does Kanter fit on the hierarchy?
Is he our 4th best player, 8th best, what?

To me, he's a clone of Zach Randolph.

Hopefully he'll have a resurgence here like Z-Bo had in Memphis.

Nah, you're on the right path. There isn't anything to get excited about until the expiring contracts are off the team.

Last three Nards has played 8 minutes per game.
Doubtful Kanter was willing to sign with Portland for 8 minutes per game.
Nurk is the starter Kanter will have to play some 4 to get the minutes he reportedly wanted.

Surprised a lot of people here allof a sudden have the most faith in olshey and the team. Yes Kanter is very skilled offensively and all that. I give credit to olshey for the hood signing. Felt like mirotic would of been very valuable to this team. Now all of a sudden a guy by the name of Zach Collins who people were high on looks to be getting no more time. Three first round picks leading to Collins which will ultimately lead to who knows. We got nothing for vonleh which would mean the batum trade was pointless. Ed davis gone for nothing. Crabbe for nothing.

I give credit where it’s due but all of a sudden we sign kanter because olshey gave him an insane offer sheet years ago so of course he comes here and the whole forum is praising olshey and thinking this makes the team better. Technically yes, it makes us better but don’t forget the stupidity of olshey moves that have been done whether you wanna blame Paul Allen or not. It’s easy to blame the dead guy. I don’t think this makes this team better all that much. This team suffers a bunch of defensive issues and identity issues. Offense was never a problem. Helps to have more, just saying.

I don't like this. He doesn't play defense. He complains when he doesn't play. He's not really a P&R player. He's a diva.

I don't see the fit. There were better bigmen on the market
