Hilarious. Up to Post 229, the whole thread ridicules Blazer4ever, who started the thread. Finally, after we see Kanter for a few games, the whole thread turns a 180 against Kanter. Will everyone who posted up to Post 229 now get down on his knees and apologize to Blazer4ever?

Meh. Small sample size for us still. Much smaller than the OP's posting history....

I think that Kanter's is negatively effecting Rodney Hood & Jake Layman too. The whole flow of the second unit changed with the presence of Kanter. It used to be free flowing with more players going toward the hoop. The last 5-6 games, it's been more post ups and isolation. Kanter's slowing the offense down and clogging the middle.

I don't mind the post ups. He's been historically good, and so if he's scoring on offense you can leave him out there.

The defense though. Wow, I need to apologize to Meyers....

Give Collins his minutes back, he at least cares about effort on the defensive end of the court.

The moment I heard he was the worst defensive c in the league is when I hated the move. In the playoffs you need defense and we have... nurk in terms of centers.

Yeah. So many people are like "yeah, Aminu might suck, but at least he gives good effort". All people care about is effort - or the appearance of effort - regardless of whether it actually helps the team.
Zach gives effort AND doesn't suck. But no, let's not play him.

Meyers is a better defender - and he's not great (or even good). Also, in this idiotic Terry Offense, Meyers' shooting threat is more valuable than Kanter's dunk threat. I thought it might be good to have someone who can manufacture points in the paint, but clearly Terry doesn't know what to do with the other 4 guys while Kanter is in the middle - thus making everyone on the floor absolutely worthless.

Can't wait for this Kanter experience to be over. Hopefully it does before the end of the regular season.

We have an 8 year sample showing he doesn't help you win, especially in the playoffs.

    He doesn't? Really?

Go look at his stats tonight against the SUNS. It's pretty sobering.

Don't get me wrong: I'll take him any day of the week over Meyers, and even to an extent over Kanter (depending on the game and matchup). But Zach isn't exactly lighting it up this year.

Aminu gives effort, doesn’t suck, and he’s better than Zach. That’s why Zach doesn’t get more of Chiefs minutes. I’m all for Zach getting more minutes though. Kanter minutes. Hopefully he pans out and becomes actually better than Chief.

Another thing. A missed paint shot is the worst missed shot in the NBA. It often results in 5 on 4 fast breaks. In contrast and contrary to popular myth, missed 3’s give your team time to get back. So Kanter’s inside shots need to be that much more efficient than Meyers 3’s. And they are not, especially when you take into account the paint clogging stifling side effects of Kanters game.

The idea with 3’s is a bounce and long rebound can and do lead to fast breaks. Usually a missed shot in the paint is accompanied by a lot of traffic in the paint. Do you have any statistics that back up the claim that missing shots in the paint lead to more fastbreaks than missed 3’s?
