Yes, I can see it now. Evan Turner posting up with Ed and Nurk spacing the floor. Great idea....

I think it’ll be one ball handler 3 guys who play basically 3 and D type roles with hopefully one of them being able to be the back up ball handler when option 1 gets trapped, and one guy who’s bigger and can control the paint. It seems like Boston, Houston, GS, and Cleveland were all built that way, Cleveland was kind of an exception because it’s really Lebron and a bunch of “ok” nba talent.

How much floor spacing do we need? if we have both Dame and CJ spacing is not a weakness, but we need to play stronger, we didn't always play small ball

Another point, you say that's how teams play but how are the Cavs stronger, with lebron at the 4 and TT at the 5 or with Lebron at the 5 and Kevin Love at 4?

Kevin Love plays the 5 over LeBron. And it's usually because they're able to put more shooting around LeBron, as well as more players that can run the floor allowing LeBron options in transitions and spacing to go to work.

I think what's optimal is a big two guard that can switch with the 3 and 4. So think of something like Butler/Porter/Harris.

Basketball isn't just about 3point shooting, it's about inside game as well, playing in the paint, defense, rebounds.
One of the reasons we were outplayed in the playoffs is you live by the 3, you die by the 3, and we didn't have enough muscle to bang inside

You don't watch the games, as youve said. Yet you claim to know whats wrong...

The problem was Dame was getting trapped off every pick n roll, and we had a lot of turnovers because we still ran it. As a relief option, we need guys that can attack and shoot. Someone that can catch the outlet pass and attack and either get a layup or draw the defense away for a kick out pass to other good shooters that could make teams pay for trapping the pick n roll in the first place. This has to happen quick before the defense can rotate back. Bigger is slower, and none of Turner, Davis, and Nurkic can shoot. So they'd have the last 3 defenders who aren't trapping just sit in the paint and handle those guys easily. There'd be no where to go, and no one to kick out to. It'd be a clusterfuck, and would be extremely ineffective. And we wouldn't be able to attack the rotating defense fast enough to exploit it because sniffer = slower. Plus, every time Dame or CJ drove, they'd be driving into 4 defenders, since ET, Ed, and Nurkic can't shoot.

"We have to muscle inside" - that's a cliche term that doesn't reference any specific basketball action. But you don't reference complicated basketball actions in a realistic context, yet you sit back and claim you know more than anyone on the site.

You act like you have the solution to everything, and are somehow enlightened. I remember an OT thread where you claimed you had the cure for cancer. Did you..? You think you can fix the problems with this team with ideas that would certainly (and obviously) fail.

Turner isn't bigger than Harkless, and Ed isn't bigger than Collins. Unless by bigger you mean "wider". Ed provides no "fire power", and this is the sort of "fire" you can expect from Turner:

The Motivated Moe we saw after the all star break was exactly that kind of player. Now we just need to see it for more than 12 games.
