Politics Erdogan: Trump apologized to me over brawl between Turkish bodyguards and protesters

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that President Trump called him last week to apologize for the bloody fight between Erdoğan’s security and protestors in D.C in May.

Erdoğan told "PBS NewsHour" on Tuesday that Trump had “called me about a week ago about this issue.”

“He said that he was sorry and that he was going to follow up on this issue when we come to the United States within the framework for an official visit,” Erdoğan said.

A White House spokesman pushed back against Erdoğan's account, saying the pair had “discussed a wide range of issues but there was no apology.”



A grand jury indicted 19 defendants last month in the brawl that took place outside the Turkish embassy, including 15 Turkish security guards. Sixteen of those indicted were charged in June on criminal complaints.

Two of the defendants were arrested in June after the fight. The rest remain at large.

I can never figure out which of the dumb-ass things attributed to Trump I'm supposed to get all in a lather about. Just the real ones, of which there are plenty? The fake ones, of which there are certainly some? I have become numb to his embarrassing actions... at this point I'm more concerned about his actions that can have lasting effects on our country.... or even just immediate effects. He's already in bed with Putin, so Trump apologizing to another shitty dictator is really just par for the course.

So if you have a foreign government attacking US citizens on US soil and then lying about it that is a problem. Why would Trump even be talking to this POS? Why not a cute nickname on twitter? "Turkeyman needs to be locked up in a cell next to Hillary's!"

The White House denied the dog's OP. I would believe that over the awful guy from Turkey.

I would believe Trump might have said he was sorry the incident occurred, which is not the same thing as an apology. Any thing like what happened is regrettable, to say the least.

But it's not fake news. The title of the article clearly says Erdogan said Trump apologized. That is true, Erdogan did say that. That's not fake. The article also said the white house is denying it which is also true.
