(After SL I would never have thought I'd be saying this but) let's hold off on that. Pat is playing really well, is a better 3-point shooter than Bledsoe, and helps the team click when he's out there. Plus he's a great lockerroom guy. Bledsoe strikes me as a me-first moaner who wouldn't like coming off the bench. We don't have to jump on every trade out there. We're in a good position right now, let's see how it unfolds.
Really? Wow, they've given up on Maker quickly. But it doesn't really make sense for Phoenix - they have a ton of young bigs.
http://www.basketballinsiders.com/update-eric-bledsoe-trade-talks/ Article says Chandler has been on the block as well. Also mentions the Knicks are open to trading KOQ.
Do you find it odd that the Bucks are willing to give up their top 2 centers and a draft pick for a PG who is not a great shooter when Giannis handles the ball so much? When they have no other center on the roster? (other than Henson)
Yes. I don't actually believe they'd give up Maker, but if they did, yeah Phoenix should take that and run.
It looks like the PPP requires that we trade using his average salary over the course of the contract... which should be covered by out trade exemption. Phoenix is also well under the salary cap, so 2 separate trades ought to do it.
Or maybe they know something we don't. Of course Kidd is a PG so you know where he places value on positions.
I think it takes into account the PPP. At least it should. PPP deals can be done. You have to throw a lot of bodies or dollars in the deal on both sides to get the % incoming/outgoing under the limits.
I think they'd acquire another center somewhere else. They could do something like Dellavedova, Maker, and Monroe for Bledsoe and Chandler. Brogdon with backup both guard spots behind Middleton and Bledsoe. Chandler and Henson would be their centers. Or they could figure out a way to get Kyle O'Quinn or somebody else like that, who's underrated and wouldn't take much to get but would have a big impact.
Maker would make a ton of sense for PHX. Chriss has been a mixed bag and Bender and Len are looking like busts. It's likely they add someone like Marvin Bagley III in the draft next year, who's from Arizona. They'd likely let Len go and go forward with Bagley and Maker starting with Bender and Chriss off the bench. That's not much of a logjam because Bender and Chriss haven't really earned minutes. Booker, Jackson, Bagley, and Maker would be a good core.
How? He'd backup Dame and CJ and would get 28 minutes just from that. Would probably get another 3min playing with them in super small lineups. He'd get his PT.
That would be a great trade for the Bucks. (Bledsoe/Chandler for basically Thon Maker) But Phoenix can get more in separate trades. Chandler to a contender will fetch them something of worth But yeah O'quinn makes sense
So ET would have to get almost all his minutes at SF, where Mo starts. To keep at ~30 MPG, Mo would have to play some PF or be limited to 18 minutes.
