No, because it was wrong. I explained why, but you didn't want to put on your reading glasses or something... Or it took too much focus to read a full 4 bullet-point post... I don't really know.

Logical opinion is around 45 wins. Your logical opinion is higher.

That would be a personal attack. Maybe your post was irrational as fuck. That would make sense

It's the focus part. Have to keep it interesting for me to focus on it.

I miss Homer and jlprk keeping things in perspective around here....grow a sense of humor folks! I'm predicting 54 wins because I was born in 54...now everybody has their own lucky number so who cares why we pick a card...not one game has even been played . HCP brought it with the 23 repeat!

Eek, mine is 11. I was born in 65 though. Splitting the difference gives us 38 wins

Did you read the article? In that set of projections, it does.

ESPN has teams with 46, 45, 44, 43, and 41 wins in the West playoffs, along with four teams between 34 and 40 wins missing it.

If wins are evenly distributed like that, 46 wins could very well get the fourth seed.

I predict the 2016/17 NBA Champions will be the Portland Trailblazers!

We will be 30-11 at the break and will finish 2nd in the West with a 58-24 record. We will beat down GS in the WCFinals and go on to beat Indiana in the Finals in 7 games.

Pretty sure he's referring to the fact that a fourth seed in the West hasn't been below 50 wins (except for the lockout year obviously) in a decade.

After acquiring Jeff Teague and Thad Young, and with the expected improvement of Myles Turner, some analysts consider Indiana to be the 2nd favorite in the East behind Cleveland.

They also added Al Jefferson. Their team is built well, their main problem is Nate McMillan being their coach... WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU NOT RE-SIGN VOGEL??

So are analysts to be believed or not? Last year they knew nothing because they picked Portland to win 25ish games. Did they learn more this year?

I've made no claims one way or the other. However, if someone predicted the Blazers to finish 12th in the west last off-season, in concert with the general outlook of the analysts, it would have been understandable. I predicted 36 myself, and was still way off. Doesn't mean that I or the analysts "knew nothing"; simply means I underestimated the team's cohesion and chemistry.

I'll admit, I haven't paid a ton of attention to the East. Prior to reading your post, I had no clue where Jefferson went.

Analysts exist to be mocked when wrong and quoted for truth when they say something good about a fan's team. The serve no other useful purpose.
