I love being overlooked. Makes it that much better when we come out of nowhere and win 50 games this season

Too bad we don't play ESPN. We could sneak up on them. The other teams in the actual NBA: Not so much.

I'm sorry if any of you think ESPN is actually reputable. Just a joke with an agenda. Stop watching TV, it does wonders. :)

I can see the Lakers making the playoffs if Kobe stays healthy. It does not take a genius to know their season rides on him coming back strong. He sure thinks he will.

I am rooting for them to finish 9th in the west. Hopefully no franchise saving draft pick.

Why can't the national writers not see what is so obvious to us Blazer fans . . . Blazers are a playoff team. They act they don't realize the Blazers got Robin Lopez and T-Rob this summer . . . for nothing! :)

As long as Kobe can walk the Lakers will be in the playoffs.

Kobe is just another player now. That injury will hamper him more than you think.

Also Even if he comes back strong (something like 23/4/3) he still has to rely on Pau and Nash to stay healthy to even have a prayer of making the playoffs. As much as everyone has been piling on Howard he was still a defensive monster for them and now they have zero interior D along with zero perimeter D.

When Kobe Bryant was 26 years old he lost the best big man in the game and proceeded to lead his team to..... 34 wins. That year he had two allstar teammates in their primes; a 25 year old Lamar Odom and 24 year old Caron Butler.

This season Kobe will now be 35 years old, injured, and losing the best big man in the game. His best teammates will be a 39 year old Nash and 33 year old Gasol. I will be shocked if the Lakers are close to .500 this season.

IMO if Davis and Gordon stay healthy they're in the conversation for one of the last two seeds. Jrue, Gordon, Tyreke, A. Davis core with Ryan Anderson and Anthony Morrow bombing 3's is dangerous. They've got some big weaknesses but may be the best 3 point shooting team in the league and they'll have a hell of a stable of guards. If Davis takes a step forward and stays healthy and Anderson, Stemsma, and J. Smith can hang up front then they've got a pretty solid team.

The West is so balanced this season I can't really see any point in getting worked up over a preseason prediction that leaves the Blazers out of the playoffs. The Blazers have enough potential to finish as high as 4th, IMO, and enough untested players to finish well out of the mix if that potential doesn't play out. That said, the major factor that will decide who's in and who's out will be injuries. There's no team good enough to ride out a hit to a major player and other than a couple of teams, no one's bad enough not to be able to surprise and ride some lucky breaks to the playoffs. Should be a fun season.

I think I nailed the 33 wins last season(that's what we got right?)

I think this season we will get around 41/42 wins.

I love the negative press. More reward when we stuff the shit in their face!

Agree with both KingSpeed & e_blazer (I usually do!). I think the Griz are overrated and will take a step down. Also that there are no standouts in the West the way Miami is in the East. To the point where an injury or a streak could have a major impact.

If the Lakers make the playoffs it will be as a .500 7 or 8 seed like last year.

Honestly how often are national predictions correct, especially about west coast teams that are not in LA? No one expected last year's A's to win the division (they were predicted in last place) or Giants to win the Series (that belonged to St. Louis) or 49ers in the Super Bowl.

Let the games begin. They aren't won on web sites.
