<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mr.Wade:</div><div class="quote_post">Wade and Shaq will be better than Kobe and Shaq... Wade is not selfish, doesn't hav an ego, isn't an a-hole, getting better... has more potential then Kobe did... is amazing.. you underrate him... Shaq is in best shape of his life since rookie season... Stop lying realdeal... you know you are. </div> Dude, are you still mad that you lost the mock off-season game? Stop following me around.

I wouldnt say he's the best in the league at his postion right now...and he's not even the most promising. True greats make the people around them better....and Kobe doesnt do that. He puts up good numbers...he plays with alot of intensity but thats not the be all and end all. How many games did Kobe shoot 30 shots and make 30% of them? Better yet...how many games did Kobe score 40+ points....hell 50 points and the Lakers loose? He's a bumb
and why the hell does EVERYBODY have him in their sigs?!?!?!?! You do realize he's a product of some great marketing schemes and that its his image rather than game play that makes people think they *should* like him. Injuries aside i'd pick Vince over Kobe in a single 1on1 game for the championship 100 times out of 100

The Lakers won 62% of their games without Shaq, and 60% of their games without Kobe. Come on guys, if you're going to debate about something, know the facts. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting 02civic:</div><div class="quote_post">and why the hell does EVERYBODY have him in their sigs?!?!?!?! Also, if you hate the guy so much, why are you talking about him? You haven't said one word about Shaq or the Heat in your posts, yet this thread is supposed to be about him and the Heat.
i'm not talking about what his season fg% was....that was pretty good. I'm talking about the games that he played like crap....was shooting like ass...but rather than give the ball up to his teammates who were playing better he just kept lobbing it up....shooting 7 for 32 or something stupid like that. Kobe won the lakers alot of games...no doubt. But jordan wouldnt of just tossed it up like Kobe does....kobe just dribbles dribbles then double cluch fade away's with 2 people on him. Its like in the finals...he kept on saying "just gotta keep on shooting" about getting out of his slump. Thats not true...you look to your other team mates and you let the game come to you...not just shooting like a tool. If you're not hitting your shots...take something easier or get someone esle a look. Kobe "just shooting" his way out of his slump...which never happened hurt the Lakers huge. He's a numbers man...he has no idea what it takes to win End rant. I guess it had nothing to do with the heat...my mistake...just stepping up vs the Kobe lovers that dominate the landscape despite his serious flaws. Shaq is the man...always has been...always will be
Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so let's get back on topic with the results of the ESPN game. As far as the Shaq/Kobe debate goes, we'll all see how it turns out this season.
What really kills me is the trust that some people put in these video game predictions. Its one thing to say "hey..this is kinda interesting" but its totally different to take it as gold. There are so many little things that the game either does not take into account or assigns a numerical value to where reality just doesnt work that way. The game cant take home court into account. It can assign a number to it making the simulation give more home wins than not, but thats not real. It can attempt to take injuries into account, but we all know that injuries are something that can neither be counted on or discredited under such simulations. It has to take into account the output of players in previous seasons, but it cant account for the intangables that a player brings to a team when they are traded or that teams are lacking when the same player leaves. It cant account for conflicting personalities on a team, and the effect that has on the teams final output of a game. It cant account for players throwing the equivalent of temper tantrums, either jacking up way to many low percentage shots or just not shooting at all. And the most important of all, it cant take into accout the human factor of anger and revenge and how that factor can both contribute to a team and detract from it as well. These are the reasons we play the games and we have upsets during the regular season and the post season.
anyone taking this prediction seriously is rediculous... I did predict some stats in the same range of this game, but this same game also has Steve Francis in putting up: 24.8 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 7.5APG in even LESS minutes than last year.. ( only 37.4 MPG) I know Van Gundy's system wasn't fitting Francis's style of play... but I know it didn't effect him THAT much... even a great passing PG and probably a better scorer in Baron Davis couldn't put up that great of a stat line (although it was close.) Sorry, but I just can't take a video game seriously.
Pretty funny thread. Everyone getting excited because of a f'in video game prediction? hahaha. There is now way the Heat are going to get past Detroit or San Antonio this year. Shaq isn't getting any younger and DWade is the only other option. No bench what so ever.
I think the only ones who took it seriously were the ones who came here to assure us not to take it seriously. Like I said before, a lot of people feel the Heat will win it this year. All that's happened now is a computer made a prediction based on numbers, like harbingerofdoom explained, and came to a random conclusion that the Heat will win it all (I say random because you can replay the season over and over and over and other teams will turn up winners). A pred is a prediction; nowhere near a guarantee.
