So black people, who make up 15% of the population, make up 30% of the deaths. Normalized to per-person status (like a PER for Getting Killed By Cops), they are twice as likely to get killed than white people. In sports terms, Black People are the Kevin Durant of Getting Killed By Cops. White People are the Luke Babbit of Getting Killed By Cops.
That data doesn't really mean much, unless you also include the percentages of each race in the general population. Sure, more white people are killed by cops than blacks or Hispanics. There are a lot more of them. There are also a lot more white people killed in automobile accidents and dying from cancer. If you look at the data in the two graphs, you'll see than there are 413% more white people than blacks in this country, but only 163% more whites are killed by cops than blacks. The reasons for this are many and complex, but the number of blacks killed by cops is definitely disproportionate to the number of blacks in the general population. BNM
Here is some quite shocking facts on black on black crime that nobody talks about http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/11/28/5-devastating-facts-black-black-crime/
This seems like a logical move. If black officers make up the majority of the police force in black neighborhoods, it at least takes the racial component out of the conversation. Not sure if we should go with military vets from Iraq who have seen combat duty, but I am sure at least some of them would be good candidates....and will need jobs.
The point is, they are still being killed. Why is it we hear every black persons name but none of the white peoples names? Why is the black lives matter movement all for justice now yet their own people are being murdered so young with the killer usually getting away with it because when the cops ask questions nobody cooperates because they don't wanna snitch. Yet this movement cries for justice for young black men only at the hands of a white cop.
This just happened in a 24 hour time period. Three killed. Where is the outrage?! https://www.google.com/amp/www.chic...o-shootings-violence-20160713-story,amp.html#
Listen, I get you have some sort of weird agenda here, but it's a real problem. I work with a black guy who was pulled over for going 4 miles per hour over the speed limit, literally a block from the office. He was told to get out of the car and lay on the ground with his arms out to his side and legs spread. I saw this happen. The cops kept yelling at him to spread his legs more. Nothing happened, but he did get a ticket. I mean seriously, what the fuck?
I'm not sitting here saying cops are innocent or all killings are justified. I don't think that at all. There are good people and shitty people. Bad cops and good cops. Justified incidents and unjustified incidents. Nobody is cut for the job of being a cop. To act like you could do the job better is insane though. That dude in Minnesota who got shot, yeah that was terrible. Eric garner, also terrible. But to stay blind to the facts and statistics is ridiculous.
What agenda am I here to spread? It's just my opinion. Yeah there are racist cops. Don't think for one second they don't pull that shit on white people though. Shits happened to me. But I have also come across genuine good cops who are just doing the best they can.
I'm presenting real statistics and facts and just because I'm on the unpopular opinion side means I'm spreading an agenda? Lol okay
What's the percentage of Native Americans killed by police? I think I remember reading it was almost has high as black people. Nobody cares about that, though. #Nativelivesdon'tmatter
Because I hate myself, I come back to this forum to see what's going on and I see MM speaking out against unfair treatment against blacks? Am I hallucinating?
"real statistics and facts!" /links to breitbart lol Also, you're not on the unpopular opinion side. Have you read the OT forum? Welcome home.
I don't ever go to breitbart, you can do a google search yourself on real statistics. Those are real. It's not like I'm making shit up. It's all within a Google search away.
Since your occupation says "stat guy" I'll assume you know some stuff about statistics. Do you trust economists with analysis of social issues?
Look, I can also link to a webpage that references numbers and stats, but this one argues for my point of view instead. Numbers and statistics are pretty meaningless without analysis. The analysis you linked to was Breitbart, which is basically Talking Points for Racist Uncles.
This is a good reminder that we should not be distracted. The real battle in the world is the oligarchic establishment against the working class.
