ET gave some good moments during the playoffs. Teammates seem to like him and no reason to believe he's anything but a good guy. I wish him well in Atlanta when not playing Portland.
I addressed that already too. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you of the posters who was really down on CJ being selfish? He's a better passer than both Hood or Trent if you want to play that game. I've said multiple times that Trent can get his shot off at a very high level and that is an important skill in the NBA. It's a fact that he looks to score and rarely passes. That doesn't make him a terrible player/prospect or mean that he can't develop into something more than a scorer but at no point have I ever seen him play and thought anything other than that he really, really likes to shoot the ball. I said the same thing about Curry last year. I'm fine with Trent being on the team even though I wouldn't have made that trade last year. I even said I was very happily surprised we didn't have to attach him to Turner to get rid of him. In fairness to Trent, he literally got no chance in his rookie year to play with the starters or the 2nd unit except for in blowouts. Simons got that opportunity in maybe like 3-4 games so he didn't really get much of a shot either. I hope both develop into useful players.
Agreed. For certain he does not deserved to be booed. His old teammates don't appreciate it and it only fires up his new teammates. Unless he ends up bad mouthing the organization, then fans should show some class and applaud. (Although a standing O would be a bit much)
While Nurk is out, use Collins at center instead of Leonard and have Noah start at PF. When Nurk is back to 100%, he plays center, Noah plays PF, and Collins splits his minutes between. Mix and match based on the situation and flow of the game. Since we no longer need Leonard, his contract becomes trade bait.
I agree. Turner didn't seem to work to improve his body or his game; not sure what people mean when they say he contributed to the culture here; or what intangibles he brought besides giving the guys a chuckle now and then.
Only the players and coaches know, and they all say the same thing about his influence in the locker room. So in this specific instance, we should believe them.
I won't believe them unless they say what specifically he did to provide a positive influence on the performance of the team or individuals on the team.
Best part of this trade. Not having to read any more trade ET posts. They got old after the first 50,000 posts saying the same thing.
He has a great rep of mentoring rookies...helping them transition to the NBA...he took Simons and Trent out right after the draft and bought them tailored suits to wear on the road...ET gave a shit....he was vocal on the court. I personally have no reason to doubt ETs work ethic or character...his game was just not a good fit for a 3pt shooting offense..I respect him..I think he'll coach one day
ET shouldve had some class and not talked about finishing on a guys mother and grandmother than ditching them (IG). I will not cheer or clap for that scrub.
I'll stand and cheer ET if I'm there. He was never a good fit here, but that's not his fault. Everything points to him being a fantastic guy and teammate. Same reason I would never boo Meyers Leonard. Not his fault he was picked in the lottery In fact the only time I boo athletes on my favorite teams is if they aren't giving full effort
He had one good quarter in the Playoffs, i mean credit where credit is due, he was great in game 7, but he scored 7 total points in the first 10(!) Playoff games, thats pathetic. Yes he's a good funny guy though
