What does that have to do with me not liking Turner and being unwilling to applaud him when he returns?

To be fair, if what folks post online is indicative of true character, we’re all complete scumbags... certainly, some worse than others.

I hold Blazer players to a higher standard than some randoms on a forum.

Yeah, that’s normal. Most folks hold others to a different standard than they hold themselves. People generally have a feeling they are morally superior to others.

Having different standards doesn’t really make the actual behavior any better or worse.

So you think that role models and public figures shouldnt be held to a higher standard than random people on an internet forum?

When your a public figure and role model for the youth, it does. No kid is seeing what your saying and emulating you. Meanwhile Evan Turner has thousands upon thousdans of followers. Hes a member of our NBA team.

And I've rarely (if ever) seen anyone on here say the type of vile things he's said.

Not on our NBA team anymore! It was like an early Birthday present from the Blazers.

That’s not what I said. Public figures should probably exert more caution about what they post if they do not want to face the repercussions of their actions. That being said, it’s a bit hypocritical to accept such behavior from one person but not from others. It’s even worse to judge someone negatively for an action that you might otherwise partake in yourself.

Im not accepting BGs behavior, I simply think that people deserve 2nd chances and he seems to have matured and stayed low-key since those incidents. If Evan Turner stopped posting shit like that on social media, Id view him differently.

And when the fuck have I ever said anything like what I quoted?

I’m just asking.... are you okay with the BG incident? To me, that’s worse than what ET did. It’s physical. It’s actually making a physical action that was not only inappropriate to even mime by one’s self, but he made another individual an unwilling participant in the action.

Both are clearly deplorable. I think most folks chalk it up to locker room culture, right or wrong.

Never said you said anything like the quote you posted. You keep putting words in my mouth. I’m not arguing here. Just a conversation. But there are very few people on here who have not crossed a line at some point, myself included.

With this quote, you're implying that I have or would: "It’s even worse to judge someone negatively for an action that you might otherwise partake in yourself". If not, then how is that relevent to me and our discussion?

I've seen him do it time and time again. He should know better. I dont like him for it.

I just said I'm not accepting BGs behavior. I agree, theyre both deplorabke. But in the past 4 years or so, BG seemed to have cleaned up his act and matured. Meanwhile, those Turner comments were in the past year.

It was a general “you”. I was referring to people in general. It’s a standard I hold myself to. Notice when I said we’re all guilty of similar things, I said “Myself included.” My intent of my comment was directed at the collective. I’m not judging anyone or directing my thoughts at anyone in particular. It’s more a “do unto others....”. I have higher expectations for myself than others.

And I don’t fault anyone for believing what ET has posted is inappropriate and being bothered by it. I simply don’t understand how someone can deem his actions as inappropriate but not BG’s. I’m not going to change your opinion on it, nor was that my intention. But in my worldview, it makes no sense.
