You need to trawl YouTube more. There's a whole bunch of Serbian Folk Music-themed highlight reels... But as for Batum's game: it drives me crazy seeing him cruise or be tentative. There are tons of players in Eurobasket who have 1/10th his talent and athleticism but make more of an impact just because they are fearless. There's a guy called Dusko Savovic (or something) for Serbia who makes Adam Morrison look like Lebron James in physical talent, but he just gets it done. Spain's San Emeterio is another one with very average athleticism who can just score by tricks and hustle. If Batum could get a nasty streak (like he gets occasionally, but only against certain players) we'd be set. (An NBA example: Corey Magette. All he does is put his head down and head for the hoop, and as a result he's a perennial leader in FTs. Batum has a lot more talent than him but defers too much.)
Batum knows his place. He came to us when he was what, 18? Stepped onto a team with older players. I hope he realizes that he has put his time in the league and it is now his time to step up. He could be a legit second option on this squad behind LA.
France will now play Greece in the knockout round. Spain gets Slovenia. Although Greece is not as intimidating as they were before, they're still formidable. They're very balanced.
Sergei Monia with a buzzer beater bank 3 FTW for Russia over Macedonia. Wow.
That's the second game-winning buzzer beater Monya has hit this Eurobasket. Mr. Clutch! (He and Khryapa are looking good for Russia, the only unbeaten team in the tournament. Khryapa more so - he's one of the top assist guys, even though he's not officially the PG. The most intriguing Russkie, though, is probably Shved. He looks like the no-good son in the second season of The Wire, but he's an exciting young talent.
I knew that fams...... I was just messing with you...... HAHA! I actually thought you didn't know who Viktor or Monia were!
Kinda hard not to remember them! Khryapa is the only Blazer in history to disappear when he put on his home Blazer uni.
I actually thought he was going to end up being a decent player! Bought me a steak dinner in Cleveland..... nice kid!
McMillan has found his outside shooter! Every foreigner wants to play for McMillan. You have a ton of egg on yours.
Koponen led his team in points, but they lost. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/story/2011-09-12/monday-fiba-europe-roundup/50377138/1
Shit, if I remember correctly, Monia started @ NY his rookie year! Man we had a bad team that season! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk..... Cause I'm a balla'!
