what about 3rd-best? LeBron would pack the bags to get Love off the team. And if it's between Kyrie and his boy CP3? Peace, Uncle Drew.

Kevin Durant just joined the Warriors.

    It makes sense.

Hmm intriguing..... but if I'm the Clips I would rather add Westbrook and keep Blake.

To me, the three point guards fit the respective windows of the teams I proposed.

Cleveland is "win now" and adding Paul would make them even better. Paul gives Curry fits.

OKC needs to rebuild. Kyrie fits their window. He's still very young.

Clips need to shake things up and Westbrook fits their window better than Paul.

Or just do Kyrie for Westbrook. That would make for an exciting finals between the Warriors/Cavs.

Ya, Kevin Durant nor the Warriors won the championship last year and that's a free agent signing bringing in a top 5 player in the league, not sending out their 2nd best player in a trade.

You're not even comparing apples to oranges. You're comparing apples to asparagus.

Nate's really talking about hypothetical, never-gonna-happen Kyrie trades in an Evan Turner thread..

The Warriors got better. Significantly better.

What did the Cavs do? Kyrie Irving isn't even a top 5 point guard. If you can add someone like Chris Paul or maybe even Westbrook, you do it.

    It's not a horrible theory

I think your win now theory with CP3 makes more sense for Cleveland, at least more than Westbrook to Cleveland does. Mainly because LeBron and Chris Paul are friends. Not sure if Russell is.

I also agree that Kyrie makes sense for OKC....... because well getting anything you can get for Russ makes sense.

And I also think the Clips need a change from CP3 as well. Getting younger is a plus and And LA is home for Westbrook.

My only disagreement is that Cp3 is better than Kyrie next to LeBron.

Eh, I think LeBron can be whatever he needs to be. With that said, the Cavs' offense was pretty horrible down the stretch. They have no flow. It was just "dump it into LeBron and clear out." I think adding Paul would actually open things up more. Maybe they could get LAC to throw in Redick as well.

Kyrie is a top 5 PG. You don't fuck up chemistry by trading your 24-year old clutch, all star PG for a chucking, super-black hole, possible 1-year rental in Westbrook, nor do you fuck up chemistry for an aging Chris Paul, who doesn't fit better with Lebron than Kyrie.

What does it say to the Cavs if the front office makes a trade that essentially says "this team isn't good enough to won a championship" right after they won a championship?? You ride with what you got. There's so much more to a team than a slightly improved hypothetical fit on paper.

Kyrie is NOT a top 5 point guard.

    Curry
    Westbrook
    Paul
    Dame
    Lowry

That wasn't even a question before the Finals. Just because he hit one big shot doesn't make him top five.

I know I would personally take Kyrie over Lowry everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. I would agree if you said Lowry is in the conversation but no way do I pick him over Kyrie myself. Lowry is fine in the regular season (but still not above Kyrie) but absolutely chokes in the playoffs. And not just a 1 year thing.

Id rather have the guy who performs and hits clutch shots all playoffs than the guy who goes into a shell.

    Curry
    Westbrook
    Dame
    Paul
    Kyrie
    Lowry
    Wall
    Conley
    Jackson
    Walker

Statistically they're not really close. Lowry is a MUCH better shooter.

Kyrie killed it in every single round of the playoffs

Averaged 27ppg on 47% shooting and 40% from 3 in the Finals

Overall averaged 25ppg on 47% shooting and 44% from 3

    Easily top 5

So just because he had a good playoffs, that negates all other data?

So I had trouble replicating that stat, but in trying, I came up with an even better one:

    http://bkref.com/tiny/v6yIe

These players, over the last five years, averaged 2400 or fewer minutes per season, AND averaged at least 320 rebounds AND at least 320 assists per season. This is meant to measure all-around game consistency over time without just pounding minutes wildly trying to get gaudy totals.

I think it's telling who is on this list.
