Turner should be mostly AND CJ our 6th man (the latter I've been saying since forever & STILL believe we'd b DEADLIER as a team this way:wink:)! I love that we got Turner, bringing his defense/actual defense alone in the backcourt is gold BUT he gives us more than just that! :ygrin: He's a solid playmaker & threat to attack the rim (teams must stay honest w/ him out there) & when the matchup calls for it (aka when opposing superstar/star sg or pg show up, Dame moves to the position that has the weaker threat while Turner gets his defense on & vise versa for offense:smiley-yippee:), we'll be ready!:rocky::rocky:

CJ can handle backup pg duties when needed but primarily, let CJ do what he's much better @; let CJ murder the opposition from the bench (again, THIS is how we become a better/championship team! Suck it up CJ! Take 1 for the team & become the ultra-6th-man! There's no shame/demotion w/ this:smiley-istra:). I like CJ BUT IF he won't take the 6th-man role... I would trade his ass; however, things are unknown/hypothetical right now; let's see what people's roles are/how our guys mesh & then we'll talk more about what needs to happen/who needs to go where:wink:

I don't think it makes a difference how you label him. Technically he could start at SF and still share the point guard duties with CJ and Dame. Mix it up to keep the defense off balance.

Or like you allude to, he could start at SG and run the point and bring CJ off the bench.

Remember though we are watching highlights. He is quicker than many SF's and SG's, but would he struggle against quicker PG's?

Bottom line is Terry has options. I like having 3 ball handlers on the floor against some teams. Other teams, I prefer to have 3 outside shooters.

I was pumped by this signing. He's a two-way player with a great motor. Roy-light, but we don't need a Roy.

    The fit here is excellent.

I think people have slept on him since he hasn't lived up to his draft selection of 2nd overall pick. But we didn't select him and don't have to worry about perceptions. We are getting a damned fine player and it seems as if his personality will fit right in with what we are building.

Meh. I hope Meyers improves. I really do. But I was disappointed when we re-signed him. Especially for 10+ per. This may prove to be the big mistake of NO's off season. Olynyk, while not nearly as athletic, is much more skilled. Does MyLe even use that athleticism anymore? :dunno:

I'm hoping practicing against Festus is going to be good for Meyers ...this is his season to make a leap, whether he does or not...we'll find out soon enough.

I liked the author's analysis as to how Turner will be effective and make the Blazers a better team. I personally think it was a slam dunk signing. What I didn't like was the over the top straw man he kept knocking down that seemingly everyone (but him) thinks this was an absolutely horrendous, terrible, awful, bad signing. Where the hell did that come from?

    Of course he does.

You have to be pretty athletic to swat as much air as he does.

It takes good instincts to close your eyes tightly whenever someone swats at him too....he'll never need eye surgery

    Astounding! Someone agrees with me!

All through his Interminable Seasons 2 and 3, I posted that when Leonard is under the basket (where he used to live before Stotts gave up on him), and an opponent possessing the ball approaches, Leonard always turns around to present his back, cowers into a ducking posture by bending over, and clamps his eyes shut to avoid the horrendous viewing of the unguarded dunk.

No one else saw it, and by Interminable Seasons 4 or 6 or whichever century his career is now in, he no longer behaved like this, because he was no longer ever near the hoop, probably due to old age.

Someone finally saw it! I will bake a cake emblazoned with a capital "R."
