Well, onions are mandatory on a good hamburger. But butter is ok, but I use bbq sauce and or mustard to act as the barrier.

you are dead to me. You might as well be a Lakers, Yankees AND Cowboys fan.

Or worse yet, a Sounders fan.

Mayo is overused...it's vinegar and eggs anyway...I use it sparingly as a spice but don't like it squirting out of a sandwich ever...when I use it in a tossed salad you wouldn't even know it's there....add capers, olives, nuts, olive oil, garlic, etc....and it's like salt...a little brings out flavor but you don't want to eat a qtr lb of raw salt....not a fan of tartar sauce they put on fish ...overwhelms everything else..and too much mayo is gross...sells a lot of napkins though so probably good for the GNP. I always thought it was for Catholic kids on Friday's for school lunch because they didn't like the taste of fish.....bury it in vinegar...just like the Brits do

This thread will get a lot of posts...at least it'll bury the posts by the dude who hates Lillard....food textures....I hate sticky sweets like Tong Yen ....those little pink and white Chinese desert balls they serve in soup....takes about 2 hours to chew a spoonful....YUCK!!! I hate persimmons because they taste like insulation coated in sugar....same with cotton candy

Onions, especially raw, are an abomination in the eyes of God.

I use Publix "light tasting olive oil". I really shouldn't...normally I use JOe and Sons Olive Oil for the taste and nutrition, but in this case I don't need to use a $20 bottle to make it taste good. And lime juice worked just as good as lemon for me.

you can use the garlic and mustard like they do, but I've used chilies, capers to make it a bit more like tartar sauce...I haven't tried the cinnamon-and-fruit that some do.

I love extra mayo on all my sandwiches. Also hate ketchup, vinegar, and anything sweet, like chocolate, vanilla, ..... Yucko. I like sour and peppery food. Probably explained why I smoked for years.
