They couldn't match salary without giving up too much.

I don't think that's too much to give up. (keep in mind they can sign ring chasers and dumped players after the deadline mess).

What's BRK's incentive to pay Shumpert to suck for another 2.4 years? Somebody would have to toss in a pick or two their way to get them to do this, and since I don't think CLE has many left, it would probably be us, and I'm not sure it's worth it just to dump Turner's contract.

    But, moot point now...

Yes, it's worth to send a 2nd rounder their way but i think they would have agreed anyway.
BKN gets Liggins and maybe you can have them get McRae too, they are in a tough spot where they need young talent but they don't have draft picks or assets to get them.

I still think Turner is underrated. So many would love to have Matthews back, even though he's older, with a worse contract, while their value as players is about the same. Turner has quietly turned into our most consistent defender, his playmaking is always there, and now his offensive impact has increased since being inserted into the starting lineup.

What he's turned into is our starting SF. If we can find a starting PF, we actually have a team.

He's earning 17 Million a year on a 4th tier team. He has to go.

Yep, no surgery required...not to shabby. That puts him back mid to late march

Has he officially been cleared to play? Has he practiced with the team?

Turner has grown on me a bit. He is one of our best defenders (not saying a whole lot), and does a nice job running the offense.

This won't happen, but would love to see Turner start at the 2, with Dame or CJ playing more off the ball, with Nurkic in, and see what happens.

I still like the signing. If it wasn't for so much money I don't think people would be so negative about it.

Turner is nice to me. He's essentially guaranteed in the paint with his jumper. He runs the point decently, plays solid defense, and overall you can tell the team loves him as a teammate. Other than that first month he's been nice this season

Actually, let me add that I think people would have been more accepting of the signing if they hadn't gone into the offseason dreaming of Whiteside and Horford and even Dwight Howard.

Yeah I just hope he doesn't try to do to much. He was playing very well before the injury but I am afraid of turnovers when he starts back up. But he can help on defense giving us some needed depth.
