I think you need to go get your shinebox. None of these guys seem like they have that mentality. But I wouldn't blame someone like Crabbe if he takes more money to start somewhere. Still that doesn't mean hes CTC.
We'll see. But I've always found it funny how regardless of how much good faith is there, once agents start spreading around numbers, things can get ugly. I don't want this fan base to get their hopes up and then take a beating. "But the way I saw it, everybody takes a beating sometimes."
3/4 of the guys are restricted free agents, so that doesn't apply here. If we want them back they will be back, and I don't think Olshey is going to break the bank to do so. Have faith in the real executive of the year!
No one knows what Neil going to do but we can speculate what might happen. I would like Crabbe and Harkless be back. But if they get better offer then we can give them then go for it but I think suprise if either player will get any offers that going not have us not be able to match. If Myers was smart take the QO if he gets one that way he can UFA next year plus the cap goes up again next year. So be suprise if go after Howard it will be 2 year contract with a player option the 2nd year. I believe we will use Cleveland pick next year in trade this year draft. Look at the 23 pick with Boston.
Yes. I just hope he does more. IMO, all the years of futility in signing a big time FA can end if Dame gets out and recruits. He's a respected star player who seems to have a reputation of being unselfish
I stand corrected. Just went back and checked the FAQ, and I can't find anything supporting what I thought I knew.
In the exit interviews he didn't say that he wouldn't recruit. He said he wouldn't try to sell a guy on Portland.
Ok, that's different from what he said in the past. Honest question, do we want that though? Or is he strictly talking about the city?
He said he'll talk to guys that the Blazers bring in to tell them what they can bring to the team and how they can help. He's not going to go out and actively seek other players. Basically I take that to mean, if NO gets an interview with someone, Dame might come along. But Dame is not going to be actively involved in looking for targets.
I kinda took it that he'll talk to guys about coming here, but if a dude is on the fence, he's not going to sell him. He said that if you don't want to be here, we don't want you.
I get what he means. If you have to sell Portland to a player, to massage his ego, he's probably not a guy you want to bring in. I think the franchise has identified the kind of players they want to sign. They're building a culture and some personalities just aren't going to fit in with this team.
Ha! Sound like a little insight missing. Being responsible for recruiting and doing the recruiting often are not the same persons.
and then LBJ makes comments about how stotts should have gotten COY LBJ officially lobbying to get Stotts to be his coach [/conspiracy theory]
