<div class="quote_poster">Quoting C.K.:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm sure I've called you crazy before. The simple and easy way you win with Iverson is if you surround him with defensive minded players; players that don't have to score to be effective. What we have on the court now are four players (Iguodala, Iverson, Webber, and Carney) that need to have the ball in their hands to be effective. When we made our championship run we had one player that needed the ball in his hands and that was Iverson.

With all that being said I do agree with you with our main problem being defense and part of that is Mo's fault. He needs to get up in these guys' face when they don't play defense, and I think we saw that a little bit late in the season when he started taking out Iverson, Webber, and Dalembert at times for not playing D.

In my mind, if we go to battle with these troops in the start of the season, Mo has to make some things clear. (1) Everyone plays defense or else you're benched, simple as that. (2) Make Webber more of a passer out of the high post. Limit his shots to around 8-10 a game and just feed him the ball in the high post to work our offense through him. (3) Get Iguodala and Carney involved in the offense early and often. (4) Limit Iverson's shots to 18-20. I've said the "simple" way to win with this team would be to surround Iverson with defensive minded players but I'd be fine if we all shared the rock this year...</div>
Where are you going to find a Mutombo though? Dalmbert has the potential to be a Mutombo type guy, but he's not. Also you can't have all guys that don't need the ball in their hands, you need some other guys who can make things happen. I don't think Webber fits into that mold of a team, but Iguodala, Dalmbert (if he could play a Mutombo role), and Korver all fit. Iguodala could play a similar role to Aaron McKie, Korver is a catch and shoot player that spreads the floor, but then you need Iverson at SG with a playmaking PG, and that's not going to happen right now.

Also you're neglecting the fact that while Philly was nice, the East was not as strong back then as it has been in recent years. That Philly team would not have beat Miami and Detroit of recent years. I also could see them getting beat by New Jersey and Cleveland of last season. Even Washington would give them a pretty rough matchup. Remember the Raptors almost beat them that year, and many people though Milwaukee go screwed in the next series. What you could need is a similar team to that, but with better offense. Iverson shooting 38-39% FG and low 30% 3PT through the playoffs while scoring 30+ PPG is not going to make you contenders in the current East.

This team right now has the talent to be good, like Avery said, you just need to come together. You have a combination of players that can give athleticism, shooting, versatility, and both offense and defense.

you can't really say he wasn't a scorer in Arionza, that team had a roster full of Talented Players. so he didn't get as much touches as a star in college

but hes going to average like 16-6-3

And turn into the JailBlazers? No thanks, he'll have to work with the talent he has. And that means developing an NBA playbook, if he can't, well that's on him.

Yeah, because the TrailBlazers (Jailblazers, very clever [IMG]) had a freakin all star team [IMG]. By bringing in talent, you don't suddenly get headcases. The TrailBlazers already had headcases when he was there, with Randolph and Miles, so its not like he screwed them over.
