The best part of all this, is if you are one of those people who are upset that the Blazers reward their season ticket holders, you have a choice:

    1) Become a season ticket holder, buy tickets to the Memphis and Bucks games on Tuesday night.
    2) Stop supporting the Blazers and hit them where it hurts.

Option 2 wouldn't do much good at this point because the demand for Blazer tickets is very high, but if it makes you feel better, you should do it.

Being able to buy my own seats for the playoffs is not a reward or incentive, it is something I should expect. Being allowed to pay for extra tickets is a reward that makes me feel appreciated as a season ticket holder.

Do you think you're the norm Tince? Remember what happened after we won the lottery two years ago? The Blazers had one of the biggest STH booms in team history. Do you think those people should be rewarded? I'm not complaining about people who have been STH holders for 5+ years. I'm saying people who just jumped on the bandwagon should not be rewarded, while others are left out in the cold.

I do understand your point and like repda503 said, it would be nice if they did this for season ticket holders before the GO draft. I still think the "fair weather" fans that shell out thousands for seasons still deserve a right before the general public.

My major concern with this was that people would be able to have the tickets mailed to them and sell them on Stubhub for a hefty profit. I wouldn't be cool with that. I'm sure you could still do it, but by giving them out 90 minutes before tip-off, it makes it a little more difficult.

ah but then you run into fans such as myself.. I am 23 now and just got married a year ago.. we are to the point now where we can afford season tickets next year in the 300's... however I have gone to games since I was 5.. including the JailBlazer era, and Lottery years.. I was there when Rasheed and Bonzi were our top 2 scorers.. I was their when Khryapa was starting at the 3. I have followed the Blazers almost as a religion even when they sucked. I come from Hood River and spend a total of about 20 bucks in gas per game, and about 2 1/2 hrs drive time for each game I attend in person... total that to about 15-20 games a year and thats about 35-50 hours drive time each season, then add in the Gas thats another 300 to 400 bucks in gas each season... and did this even when the team went 21-61.. I understand your frustration.. but there are just so many variables it would be impossible for the team to take them all into consideration.

I guess I'm just bummed because this will be the first playoff series I will miss since the Rod Strickland era.

1000 tickets will be on sale this Thursday. There's still a chance you could get them.

I'll tell you what. If for some reason if I can't find 4 friends who want to go to the game with me, I'll send you a PM and sell them to you for what I paid for them.

1000 tickets for an entire city. Nice.

Assume they limit tickets to 2 per person. 500 people will get them. Seems kinda messed up.

4 additional tickets just seems a bit excessive for each season ticket holder.

Better than nothing. And my guess is the limit is 4, not 2, so that would only mean 250 people could get them.

All the more reason to be a season ticket holder I guess. If that's too much money for you, find a few buddies and split the season up.

Not an issue of the money, it's an issue of distance and scheduling. I live two hours (soon to be three when I move to Seattle) away from Portland. Having season tickets for me is completely impractical as I only get down to Portland about once a month.

It's not like every single season ticket holder was also able to purchase 4 tickets per game. There was the option to, but I thought I heard where only 1000 were being offered there, and 1000 Thursday, meaning the rest of the playoff tickets were taken by season ticket holders, both full and partial. Seems fair to me to allow STHs the right to purchase more, as many as non-season ticket holders.

Were you able to get some tickets?

I'm very happy to say that Emma and her moms are going to be able to go to a playoff game!

I had a package and went to the playoffs the last time we went to the playoffs so I've been through thick and thin and not a Johny come lately.

I remember the championship run and not being able to get tickets so I can certainly relate to those that are not able to get tickets.
