He built as big of a case last summer with Rolo as he did this summer with kaman. I don't think people on these forums really understand the importance of a bond with coaches. Hughes helped turn kaman into an all star in 2010, kaman bounced around in bad situations and now he is back with the coach who had him playing like an all star.

Chris kaman will be fighting for starting minutes with Rolo at some point next season. I don't think he will win the job, but kamans production off the bench will spark discussion about how portland has been weak at that position for years and now they have what will be one of the more productive backup centers.

It's funny people thinking a team can change overnight. So silly. It's a process. Let go of your need for instant gratification and enjoy the ride.

I love your optimism, and hope we have that 'problem' of deciding who starts. If Kaman's health holds up, I agree that he'll be our best player off the bench.

I would be psyched about Kaman as a third big. If he was signed with the BAE I would be very happy right now. I just don't think he was worth the MLE. Not with guys like Shaun Livingston going for that kind of money.

Kaman has better numbers and fills more of a need than Livingston. I don't really understand the fascination with Livingston.

Not to mention he's only had 1 good season since his "should have been" career ending injury.

Livingston would be a disaster here. In Brooklyn he flourished as a starter in place of an injured center. He has the three point shooting of a center. That strategy worked well in the weak east but we don't want to play that small ball style in the west.

I preffer Kaman as backup center than Livingston.

I like Livingston because I think he's an ideal pairing with Dame. He's tall enough to defend shooting guards, but he's also a good pass-first point guard. I saw him in an Eric Snow/Allen Iverson type role, but now we're going to see that scenario played out in Oakland.

Does anyone else think it would be funny if Carmelo went to the L%kers after saying he wanted to win?

Kobe + Melo = clusterfuk IMO, Kobe is now old with injury issues, Melo is an idiot if he goes to LA, if he is thinking that he may as well stay in NYC and get another 30 mil

How do we not know the two are a building a chemistry together not for the purpose of the Lakers but for the Knicks?

    Awesome!

Miami doesn't deserve that kind of talent.

Even with James they still needed this:
