I like the "IDEA" of Noah, but he has such a irritating personality - I don't know if I could ever cheer for him. Having said that, I fully expect all those I currently have on "ignore" to fully embrace the Noah idea.
Adrian Wojnarowski: Mavericks pushing on an offer sheet agreement with Houston restricted free agent Chandler Parsons, league sources tell Yahoo.
VERY! With that said, Noah would replace some of Nic's play making - the difference being he can't bring the ball up-court and can only really hit cutters, rather than actually running the offense. I think the difference between Nic and whatever SF we got to replace him is larger than the difference between Rolo and Noah. I'm also concerned with Noah's injury history. I'd love to get Noah, but with the very uncertain future of our roster I wouldn't give up anything meaningful to get him. CJ, Leonard, & Rolo? Sure, sign me up! But if we have to give up more I'd rather go after Hibbert or Monroe.
I mentioned something in another thread about being careful about falling in love with and overvaluing your own players. This kind of touches on that. On most teams your 2-guard might help with the playmaking and your small forward might be more of the two-way guy. Wes isn't even average when it comes to the dribble. Batum isn't better than average when it comes to the dribble -- like Noah, he's a good passer, but he doesn't break down defenses with the dribble. You could find two players to cover those two positions who were at least comparable to Nic and Wes. They are very good players, but they aren't elite and irreplaceable. Noah generally is considered a cream of the crop center in the NBA today.
Not overrated at all. He's playing inside against two pretty good offensive centers and a team with two very dangerous pick-and-roll weapons on the perimeter in Wall and Beal. And the other guy inside with him is small, slow Carlos Boozer. I think he's extremely underrated on this board.
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA ' Channing Frye has agreed to a four-year, $32 million deal with the Magic, source tells Yahoo Sports.
Why would the Magic do that? Seems like a waste with all of their young players they need to develop. Of course the East could be an even bigger void if Lebron leaves Miami and Bosh comes west, so they could make the playoffs.
Ken Berger @KBergCBS 26s As @DwainPrice reports, Mavs close to locking up deal with Vince Carter. Details to be finalized, but team confident he'll be back.
Actually the Magic are forming a pretty good defensive team, adding Frye gives them much needed firepower (I'm sure they miss Ryan Anderson's production). Question is, do they start him over Gordon or let him be the super-sub?
WOW. I think this is worst of the off-season. Jodie Meeks is up there too. Just atrocious. Didn't they just draft another 4 and they also have a good one they got from Milwaukee? Terrible.
