Mags who do you like, a Mario Chalmers or a Shaun Livingston? Or would you go with someone like Stuckey?
I don't like stucky because he's one of those "players that needs the ball in his hands to be effective". If we could get chalmers, that would be a HOME RUN, IMO. I would be happy with Livingston as well, but I doubt he leaves Brooklyn.
I think Chalmers is in that Greg Anthony mold. He plays defense, he can shoot the three, and he passes. I think he could be the ideal backup to Dame.
Mo opting out doesn't make anywhere near enough cap space to get a $7M player. You might have $4M in cap space, so that's all you get. Plus MLE, which can't be added to cap space. So basically a $4M player and a MLE player. Too much cap space and you don't qualify for MLE at all.
Any cap space and you don't qualify for MLE. In order to use cap space, all exceptions must be renounced (except for the room exception, which is only granted to teams who are under the cap).
I don't want LBJ here. I've been a fan of his since the beginning and even after the decision. But it'd feel like cheating having him come to this team. The narrative would be how great LeBron is and how he won. I want the Blazers to win.
Well the other day I did ask if there was any way a Joakim Noah for Robin Lopez+ trade would ever work? I'm just thinking outside the box on this one.
Your "outside the box" thinking usually means you're going to post something that has no chance of happening.
The MLE is $2.575M for teams with cap space. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_salary_cap#Mid-level_exception
