Actually, I do. That's completely false. Are you telling me that equal opportunity doesn't exist in this country? We just elected a President who was the product of a bi-racial relationship, who barely knew his father and whose hippie mother left him with his grandparents. You can do anything you want in this country; you just have to work hard enough. You're confusing organizations and individuals. Goldman Sachs will always attract better employees than the local Plaid Pantry because they're willing to pay more. The person who started working at the local Plaid Pantry has the ability with enough effort to gain employment at Goldman Sachs.
Likelihood has nothing to do with it. It's if you work hard enough in this country you can succeed. No one said if you work equally hard, you have an equal chance at success. Clearly, that's not true. However, if you're willing to outwork everyone else, you can do anything in America. BTW, one of the most successful people I know was born in Anacostia, which is one of the worst neighborhoods in DC.
