Steve Blake, Mar 23 - 20 shot attempts vs PHI. 2 FT attempts. 5 assists, 3-12 from 3 :sigh:

    Miller? 27pts, 10reb, 3 assists, 3 stl, 9-11 FTs.

I stand corrected. Check out LMA's line in that game. Nice.

Some things never change. Willie Green, the starting SG, got only 2 shot attempts.

Both guys shot 9-20, but Blake shot 12 of his from the 3pt line to spread the defense and made 3 for a total of 22 points. Andre can't throw the ball that far so he took no 3's.

Blake had 2 TO's, Andre had 6 To's and 2 of his shots blocked.

Sergio had the best game considering he only played 10 minutes.

    2-4, 1-2 3pt, 5 pts, 2 rbs, 3 ast, 2 stl, 1 TO.

Not to nitpick, but I did exclude guys still on their rookie contracts.

Grant Hill is a good call.

Oberto is just a room temperature wide body.

Bass, Hayes, and Landry are all just as limited as Outlaw - but in different ways. I would trade Outlaw for Hayes or Landry because their limited role might be more valuable to the team than Outlaw's limited role....but that's a different discussion.

Yeah, that is what I wrote....way to draw your own conclusions....He doesn't need to "shape" his game around Miller...I never wrote that...He needs to ADJUST to playing with better players, and get over this "I must have the ball in my hands all the time for this team to succeed" mentality that he seems unable (unwilling?) to let go of....The sooner he realizes that letting guys like Oden, Aldridge, and yes Miller shoulder some\more of the scoring\playmaking responsibility the better and stronger the TEAM will be as a whole...He'll still get his shots, he can still pick his spots...can still be "the man"....

I don't think...scratch that...I KNOW this team cannot reach ultimate success just by riding the back of Roy...heck, they couldn't even get out of the 1st round...teams can find a way to shut down one guy, and sorry folks, but Roy is nowhere near the LeBron\Kobe level of talent that can SOMETIMES eclipse that for a game or two....If Roy really wants to be a champion, then he is going to have to start letting his teamates carry some more of the burden...

It is not absurd, where is the line drawn? You wouldn't make Devin Harris or Chris Paul come off the bench because Roy feels more comfortable with Blake in the backcourt would you? Miller is CLEARLY better than Blake, as good as any of the guys I listed? (For EMPHASIS BTW), heck no, but clearly better than Blake and yet....Roy would rather have the less talented player next to him, because HE cannot yet adapt to not having the ball in his hands ALL THE TIME.....That isn't a Miller problem...that is a Roy problem....I know most people here can see no wrong in Roy no matter what he does, but he isn't perfect...

Oden getting more shots\touches is not a bad thing...Hasn't the preseason shown that already? Aldridge has clearly shown he deserves to get the shots\touches he normally gets....Miller certainly deserves some shot attempts as well, and he makes plays happen for other guys not named Roy...something Steve Blake has not shown he is able to do.....His game is pass the ball off to Roy and spot up for an outside shot...it works some nights, most nights it doesn't...and it failed miserably in the playoffs...

So fewer shots in the preseason means deferment? Or maybe they are a result of a player who is struggling to adapt to not controlling the ball all the time? Yeah Miller has taken a lot of shots in a few games, but can you blame him? The guy has been a good player, a starter for his entire career and now his coach infers that he will likely come off the bench behind a player who is not as good as he is...Think he wants to prove something? You bet he does, and BTW, Blake has been pressing as well.

You're more worried about statistics than wins?

Only 10 PGs avg more assists than Miller last season, and one of them wasn't Chauncey Billups. Parker also only avg .4 more assists than Miller, while averaging 5 more shots a game.

This isn't acceptable Parker. Shoot less and pass more. That's how you win championships.

You posted that Roy was to blame for any lack of chemistry. I think that is ridiculous. Argue with the facts I posted, or don't, but I have to admit I can't really respect your opinion after you blaming Roy for any chemistry problems. Go ahead and post another multi-paragraph response that I'll skim through (unsuccessfully) looking for a justification of why Roy is the problem with chemistry when he's leading the team in assists this preseason while shooting the ball 26 less times than the "passing" PG.

What sort of fan shows up daily in a chat site during the offseason? Asking such a poster if they've ever watched so and so on their favorite team is flat absurd. Do you really think it's a possibility that someone chatting hoops in the offseason out in cyberspace obsessively pours over basketball stats without ever watching games? Thats just nuts

Asking that question comes off as either 1) a poor try at a condescending insult of the other person and/or 2) an indication of your own personal limitations.

since you were so kind to ask... my grade school years were spent in North Carolina in the early 70's and I've been a hoops fanatic since. My family moved to Portland in 76 and save one season when I was in Italy, I've easily watched over 70 Blazer games a season since. I've focused on every single player thanks. I've also had the pass for at least 5 years and try to watch every team a few times a year... lots of college ball too. Though I've a lot of hoops friends, I don't know anyone who watches nearly as much hoops as I do.

Travis is a decent player on a cheap salary who fits in well on this team. I'm fine with others disagreeing with me on this or whatever, but acting like your view point is the only legitimate one to hold on this issue is dilutional. I'm not only siding with the stats on this but with the NBA professionals who've signed him and continue to increase his PT every single year he's been in the league.

    LOL.

You're trolling the board looking for posters who makes foolish posts that I disagree with so you can rep them.

"Brandon Roy is the only Blazer failing at chemistry."

I do like this ignore function.

Sergio is taking Tyreke Evans job?
Tonight in a Kings blowout over the Thunder:
34 minutes Sergio, 14 minutes Tyreke Evans, Beno Udrih 28 minutes.
11 assists, 3 steals for Sergio, and he was leading his team when they extended out to the big lead.

With Kevin Martin out, Beno (top sub at PG) had to play SG. Sergio got a chance to show he should be top sub at PG. I think whoever is top sub at PG will soon start, as rookie Tyreke will quickly fade as team leader.
