Re: Fan Mock PICKS!! Ok, Ortiz hasnt picked in like 2 days, so im gonna go next since his time is up.With the 8th Pick in the Mock Draft, The Arizona Cardinals Select.....LB A.J. Hawk - Ohio StateA.J. Hawk LB 6?1 238 Ohio St.By: Robert DavisA.J Hawk is going to go down as one of the best linebackers in the history of Ohio St. This is his third year as a starter, and he has led the team in tackles since his sophomore season. That year, he tallied 106 tackles, with 13 of them for loss, and two interceptions. As a junior, he was named to everyone?s All American lists after finishing the season with 141 tackles, 8 for loss, and two interceptions.Hawk is the prototype at linebacker. He?s strong, physical, and plays with a nasty streak. His best asset is the way he approaches the game and the intensity he plays with. Hawk will stick his nose anywhere the ball goes and most of the time comes up with the tackle. He is a very good athlete, with very good closing speed, and makes plays sideline to sideline.Physically, the only problem with Hawk is the lack of ideal height. At a listed 6?1, he is a bit short for an NFL linebacker. On the field, he goes full tilt all the time, and sometimes it will result in him taking himself out of plays.A.J. Hawk is the top senior linebacker in the country, without question. With Ahmad Brooks sitting out half the year, nursing a knee injury, Hawk may be able to overtake him for the top linebacker in the draft come April. He looks like a very good bet to be a first rounder, and should be a standout in the NFL. He?s got the talent and the mindset to be a star at the next level.

Re: Fan Mock PICKS!! The thing about that Hawks pick is, I asked some Cardz fans on footballsfuture.com and this guy is obssesed he say DT is a huge need. He spazes when people give them a LB, but oh well note: can I PLEASE take the Pats and swap with GL, PLEASE!

Hawk rated slightly above Haloti Ngata so I figured Id go with the better pick to fill a need. Youll have to pass the pick change with GL, but im sure he will.
Re: Fan Mock PICKS!! Ok, im going to make a few picks for those inactive ones. With the 7th pick in the NFLC Mock Draft, the Baltimore Ravens Select.DE - Mario Williams - NC StateMario Williams DE 6?7 290 North Carolina St. Jr.By: Robert DavisTeaming with Manny Lawson, Mario Williams has helped give NC St. the most feared edge rush duo in college football. As a freshman in 2003, Williams made an immediate impact. For the year he tallied 56 tackles, 13 for loss, and five sacks. He was named to everyone?s Frosh All American lists. As a sophomore, his numbers were almost identical. He finished with 57 tackles, 15 for loss, and six sacks. There may not be a better physical specimen at any position in the draft. Williams has fantastic size for a defensive end, but couples that with supreme athleticism. He draws a lot of comparisons to Julius Peppers for his size and athleticism combination. Mario has the quickness off the line, the ability to change direction, and the closing speed to be a major factor as a pass rusher. But his height and bulk allow him to be a force against the run as well.Despite being so talented, Williams has not dominated like he should. He just seems to disappear at times. For how big and athletic he is, he should just own opposing tackles. Perhaps that is because he still relies on his athleticism to make plays. Whatever the reason, it does cause some concern.Williams may end up being the first defensive player selected in April if he declares. His upside is that tremendous. He is not as good a prospect as Julius Peppers was, because along with all his talent, Peppers dominated games too. But, the ability is there. If he declares, Mario is a first round lock, and the sky is the limit for how high he goes, and how good he can be.
Re: Fan Mock PICKS!! With the 10th Pick in the NFLC Mock Draft, The Miami Dolphins SelectLB - Chad Greenway - IowaChad Greenway LB 6?4 244 IowaBy: Robert DavisAfter redshirting as a freshman at Iowa, Greenway lost most of his second season because of a knee injury suffered in the spring. Once healthy, Greenway has taken the country by storm. As a redshirt sophomore in 2003, Greenway posted 132 tackles, 13 for loss, and two sacks on his way to earning All Big 10 honors. He had another standout season as a junior, finishing the year with 113 tackles, eight for loss, three sacks, and three interceptions. He racked up more post season honors, again being named to the All Big 10 team, and this time earning various All American awards. Greenway was also voted to the Playboy AA team just before this season.Chad Greenway is the prototypical linebacker prospect. He?s tall, strong, but still has very good speed and athleticism. He?s strong enough to take on blockers, but fast enough to play sideline to sideline. He is around the action on every play, and possesses excellent football intelligence. It is hard to find knocks in Greenway?s game. He can do it all on the field. If pressed to criticize some parts of his game, he does not always show the awareness in coverage that his physical talent suggests. He also has never made too much of an impact as a pass rusher, but he is not asked to get after the QB very often.Even though the linebacker position has become less of an attractive position in the first round, Greenway looks like a solid bet to be a first rounder. He is in a very close race with A.J. Hawk for the top senior linebacker, and it just is a matter of opinion depending on who you talk to. He should be a standout linebacker at the next level, and whoever gets him will be very happy.
Re: Fan Mock PICKS!! With the 11th Pick in the NFLC Mock Draft, The Minnesota Vikings select....DT - Haloti Ngata - OregonHaloti Ngata DT 6?5 338 Oregon Jr.By: Robert DavisHaloti Ngata has always been one of the most imposing figures you?ll see on a football field. He was widely regarded as one of the top five players in the entire country coming out of high school. He gave glimpses of his talent as a freshman, but missed the entire following year due to a knee injury. Ngata didn?t regain his previous form until halfway through last year at Oregon. You cannot dream up a more physically gifted defensive tackle. Ngata is absolutely massive and is immovable from the interior line. He combines his bulk with amazing physical strength. Along with his great size and strength, he has impressive athleticism and agility. Moving up the field, he shows the ability to change direction well and has the closing speed to finish off plays. Oregon even drops him into coverage from his tackle spot. That is unheard of for a 340lber. He must be accounted for at all times. Teams routinely double and triple team him to neutralize his impact.Ngata has gotten a ton of hype because of his physical gifts, but he still needs some more consistency on the field. At times, he thinks his raw strength is enough to dominate, and that will not work at the next level. He injured his knee in 2003, and even though he appears to be back at full strength, it will be something that is looked intn his talent alone, Ngata is going to be a high draft pick. Teams will drool over his physical ability in workouts. Whether he leaves this year or stays for his final season then enters the league, he is going to impress on the post season circuit. Invesco and the Cleveland Browns, you are on the clock.
Re: Fan Mock PICKS!! lets go somebody other then Venom make the pick, how hard is it to just pick a player for your team.
