I say TJ Ford, he made AI look kinda slow in this years season opener.

Jason Terry is another quick player, although not up there with T.J. Ford and Nate Robinson.

    T.J Ford

Runners up: Allen Iverson and Tony Parker

Allen Iverson doesnt rely on his speed as much as he use to although he still does a lot and it is still effective.

Speed in basketball requires physical and mental synchronicity. The ball must be brought so fast that transaition defense does not have a chance and this speed must be there with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. When the ball reaches one pace from the top of key, the guard has decided to lay in up, float it in, pull up and shoot, pass to a trailer, or wait for the advantage. Go back to the last months of Hornets' games. Chris Paul is without a superior.
He has singlehandedly beaten more teams in November than NO won all last November, December and much of January. His assists have lifted David West from a potential bust into a power. Paul will lay it in, go the line, make an assist, or float one in. He is without question All-NBA. Oh, and he is the fastest player physically, mentally and with decisions trusted by all teamates and coaches. He is the guy you would go over a trench with at Bastongne.

Played barely 10 games and you claim he's all-nba?

True, but AI was also bustin his ass on the offensive end. I think it's 'easier' to be faster on offense because on defense you're REACTING to the other player, so if he does nothing or something you have to wait and react to it, which automatically makes you slower than them (if they're the same speed or faster).

T.J. he'll beat anyone of the dribble or running the floor, he also has really good hops.

Runner up - Rafer and Boykins

Honestly, I don't really think AI is what he used to be, he just isn't as fast as before...maybe all those injuries caught up with him?

    Speed

I'd go with AI or maybe Steve Francis on the speed thing. But i don't think little guys are the only fast ones. I'm sure lebron james or some other forwards are pretty fast on the break.

^^You're probably right on that one, I know for sure Kobe has tremendous speed, but the fact is that guys like Lebron are more powerful and use more athleticism when playing, not just their speed to be effective.

    JAMAL CRAWFORD:

Running the floor fast is one thing - Nate Robinson probably. And Jason Kidd is still one of the fastest which is amazing given he's not so young anymore.

Penetration move fast is another - Tony Parker and JAMAL CRAWFORD jump out in my mind. He is the quickest guy to get from the 3 point-line to the layup i have seen.

I have noticed on some fastbreaks J-Kidd runs so fast, like he is 25 instead of 32. It doesn't look like he lost a lot of speed.

I think halfcourt wise, the quickest players would be between Iverson and Wade, they change direction so fast you still think they're going one way when they're going the other.

Pure speed wise, Shawn Marion and Lebron would probably be added too. Most of the points guards are faster with the ball than the other postition players are, as they should be.

Yes, TP is widely known as the fastest guard off the dribble.
