<div class="quote_poster">Quoting starman85:</div><div class="quote_post">I like BJ Armstrong, Kenny Smith, Orlando Woolridge, Manu Ginobili, Kevin Johnson. Others too, but these guys came to mind. Guys who were close to all-star level(or were all-stars) who never were regarded as superstars.</div> Kevin Johnson was on the 96 Dream Team buddy....I think that takes one hell of a superstar.
I've got Memo Okur, Tayshaun Prince, Darko Milicic, Richard Hamilton, Chauncey Billups, and Earl Boykins. (5 Pistons and a short guy, what do you know) I don't consider any of those players superstars. Good players but not superb.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting P_Stojakovic16:</div><div class="quote_post">how can u go with darko when he hasnt shown ANYTHING this year</div> the thread is about his "favorite" Mine is tyus edney, but he isn't in the league no more...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting P_Stojakovic16:</div><div class="quote_post">who did tyus edney play for??</div> You're a kings fan?? lol, he played 2-3 years with the kings, and he was their starting pg as a rookie, and all-rookie second team despite being a late second round pick...I just looked at your profile, you're probably to young to know him. He is famous for his coast-to-coast play against missouri in the sweet sixteen when he played at UCLA.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">the thread is about his "favorite" Mine is tyus edney, but he isn't in the league no more...</div> Hey, I just did some research and found a great article that takes a look back at the coast-to-coast play 8 years later (article was written in 2003). It's a great read if you haven't seen the play or you wanna reminisce about it. At the bottom of the aricle, it updates Edney's career and says this: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Edney's greater success has come in Europe, where he played in Lithuania and most recently for Benetton Treviso in Italy. Last season, when he averaged 17.9 points and 3.9 assists per game, Edney was selected Eurobasket All-Europe Import Player of the Year.</div> http://sports.tbo.com/sports/MGAV38MYEDD.html Wow, I guess maybe he is a superstar...just not in the states
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting P_Stojakovic16:</div><div class="quote_post">how can u go with darko when he hasnt shown ANYTHING this year</div> He played 4 minutes tonight and overscored Yao, six to four.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Crossover:</div><div class="quote_post">He played 4 minutes tonight and overscored Yao, six to four.</div> ahah, he was gaurded by spoon!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting lost_elephant:</div><div class="quote_post">ahah, he was gaurded by spoon!</div> I wouldn't exaclty use Yao as a scoring comparison.
Well all three of my favorite players are not considered superstars by sportscenter(like I care) but they are superstars in my eyes Sam Cassell 20.7ppg 7.5ast 50.8fg% (looks like superstar #ers to me.) K-Mart- 17.5ppg 9.8rbs top 5 defender All-star? Richard Jefferson- 17&6, underratted defender. can jump out the building. Who cares if sportscenter doesnt say your favorite player is a superstar? Sportcenter is nothing but player marketing, so they can get ratings for their games. To me every player in the NBA has a little superstar in him because he is playing at the highest level of basketball (the NBA).
