I could go on forever, i love music
I'll try to get some of my tunes up here once I get the extra cash to get into the studio. Here's a good short list of some of my top bands and artists along with some links for listening pleasure. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Cloud Room Doves dredg Elbow Half Asleep - http://www.halfasleep.be (in french) Kaiser Chiefs Luke - http://www.luke.com.fr/ (in french) Sigur R?s Stellastarr* - http://www.stellastarr.com Under the Influence of Giants - http://www.utiog.com Venus - http://www.venusmusic.be Vitalic - http://www.vitalicokcowboy.com/ Also Coldplay, but only before X&Y. I think that album is crap sorry, and I wasn't much of a fan of AROBTTH either. It was basically all Blue Room and Parachutes for me. Vitalic has some really vicious tunes, the only techno artist I'll give a listen to because he has nothing but pure heart for his music, it's insane especially live. The crowds are not like any other techno artist can take in. Venus is just pure genius; every album is entirly different than the previous with the exceptions of their violin work, unique build up, and eerie sounds using a musical saw, xylophone or other instruments. Can't even begin to explain Half Asleep's cultic originality.
I'll throw in some bands for myself here... Metallica (everything pre St. Anger...but mostly Black Album and earlier) RCHP 3 Doors Down The Offspring Maroon 5 Rise Against Linkin Park Lostprophets Staind Sinch Hurt Funeral for a Friend Nickelback (much more appreciation for these guys after seein em live) Three Days Grace Trapt

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">i try to tell my friends the same thing about coldplay lol.</div> Yeah you can't get some fans to change their minds about them, it's like they don't want to give up on them. I don't blame them after the first albums. My girlfriend and I were like that too with AROBTTH and then when the new album hit we were devastated. Fact is Coldplay are really just the same ol' same now with nothing inspirational to feed off of. That's why I turn to Venus now, that's some genius material with the vast changes between heavy tunes, orchestra, and cult. If you want you can check their new and only video at the bottom of the page - http://venusmusic.be/venus_news.php Amazing violin work by Christian Schruers.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">I'll have to check em out, btw where are they from?</div> They're from Belgium, they won't release albums in North America but I've heard a song of their's during the end sequence of the film Immortal by Enki Bilal. People can rent or buy that in the US/Canada now I'm sure. Their albums can't be found in stores in North America and sadly everyone would have to order from Europe. You know how that can be pricy for International shipping too. Not sure if any MP3 websites carry their music either.
No particular Order The Eagles Queen Tom Petty Red Hot Chili Peppers Steve Miller Band CCR Cream Led Zeppelin Lynyrd Skynyrd ACDC Pearl Jam The Allman Brothers I know the Beatles are considered by many to be the greatest...I just can't get into it nearly as much as the artists I listed above. I am just not a huge Beatles fan, though, I do enjoy some of their songs.
^^You should go to a tom petty/pearl jam concert. I went a few weeks ago, and it was amazing. i ma not sure where their tour is now though

(I am currently home for the summer, but I have an apartment in Milwaukee - so I could have stayed there). But relatives flew back from overseas, and came to visit...and since I only see them every couple of years, I decided to skip SummerFest.
SlipKnot. I only have one favorite band, SlipKnot. I love them, but that doesn't mean I like all those other Ozz-fest bands, etc. SlipKnot for life.
The Offspring, Red Hot Chili Peppers and a few songs by System of a Down. Coheed and Cambria and Alexisonfire also aren't that bad either.

Many argue that they progressed music so far, especially with the Srgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album, but there was so much more better music that sprung out in that time period. Anyways, there's my little rant.
