I'll be watching to see how he differentiates himself from Trump. And he will. Lots of time left. Lots.
Ted Cruz and many republicans pretended to distance themselves from Trump in primaries when they ran too......it's all a show for the voter base. First if you don't clean up the insurrectionists in your party that hold power now....then the job isn't done and nothing has distanced itself from Trump politics at all.....if I were a republican today I'd lobby for those members who voted to impeach Trump
DeSantis is playing a dangerous game. The Republican nomination is a game of who is the biggest schoolyard bully. DeSantis is testing weather he can overtake Trump as the top dog in the party. Will Trump's base stick with him or we they switch loyalties over to DeSantis if he promises all that Trump has and more? They really share the same base. Trump voters voted for DeSantis because Trump told them too and because like I said he runs the same playbook. In the end that base can only choose one if they both run for president. Either way if one of them gets the nomination which is likely the stakes are our democracy. That's not good at all.
Honestly I don't think Trump will be on the ballot...he'll be in way too much trouble long before 2024...he's done in DC....his merry men however are going to milk his bullying and insulting playbook because they saw it work for him...play to the same crowd with the same rhetoric and whoosh...you have a chunk of voters
At least the Dems are trying pass real laws. They are still legislating, even if its frustrating and half-assed. The only thing the GOP did, legislatively - and that was their job let's remember - was to pass a big tax cut, and break the rules to get a couple of conservatives on the Supreme Court. They can no longer be counted to act as a responsible governing party.
Did you hear Moscow Mitch yesterday? He claimed there is no voter suppression because African Americans voted in as high numbers as Americans. Saying the quiet part out loud.
Worst Presidents: I would vote 1.Trump, 2.Nixon 3.Franklin Pierce 4. Andrew Johnson 5. James Buchanan.
"Ted Cruz and many republicans pretended to distance themselves from Trump in primaries when they ran too......it's all a show for the voter base."[/QUOTE] IMO: Political Whores:
1. Donald Trump 2. James Buchanan 3. Franklin Pierce 4. Andrew Johnson 5. Richard Nixon /Warren G Harding Herbert Hoover
Yes he's been even more anti-science about the pandemic than Trump has lately... great start. Definitely showing me trust and integrity already.
Since we're talking about trust and integrity, this seems pertinent. Trump campaign officials, led by Rudy Giuliani, oversaw fake electors plot in 7 states
Generally, Both Parties Suck. Imagine, if you will, a scenario where no one turned out to vote in 2024.
