    Makes sense. But having used the MLE for the Euros, if we do renounce our exceptions, we would be under the cap and lose the MLE. Freeland and Claver's signing would be via our then under-the-cap dollars.

    I really like how Olshey is methodically handling this off-season. He really hit the ground running.

    As I understand it, there's technically no such thing as a TPE in the CBA. What it provides for are simultaneous and non-simultaneous trades. Since the Blazers sent out more salary than they took back in the Felton deal, they have up to a year to pull off another trade and have it considered a part of a non-simultaneous trade. If they want to make a deal in that time period to bring in another player and they will remain under the cap after they add him, it's pretty much a moot point. OTOH, if the second trade would push them over the cap, they can restructure it as a non-simultaneous trade and make use of the $3.5M from the Felton deal to make the numbers work.
