Question guys... is there anyway you can tell how much your players are earning PER MATCH? I can see how much I could sell them for, but thats all. The only players I can actually see how much they make per match are players I signed through scouting that season.

Just gotta practice. Learn to utilize the LT while running, you dont necessarily have to use the right stick with it, you can use the running stick and just go backwards and you can lose defenders like that. Also, try and not use the turbo ever unless you are in the open field. Turbo is the main reason a lot of people get the ball stolen. And pss the ball, they can't have a lot of time to steal the ball from you if the ball is going between people.
Any of you guys play on ps3?

the AI on your teammates is beyond shitty, its laughable. I get so sick of them just watching and walking around while on defense or when I make a pass. ugh and is there a way to change how it automatically switches players for you? I have had at least 10 times where they are in my goal area and I press x to clear it, yet for some reason it switches me to another player (who is farther away from the ball) and he slide tackles someone and they get a god damm penalty. I'm just gonna bump it down cause this shit is annoying lol.

yeah I try that and all they do is play passing lanes. I use the LT a lot but there is always at least 2 people swarming me.

it takes a long time to be good at the game. a few things id say is pick a formation and stick with it. i only use one formation because i typically always know where players will be or will be in a second. if you play around wiht formations every game you wont know where players are supposed to be. make sure your formation has at least two strikers up front. once you get the formation down you will learn how players and the computer iwll make runs. this just takes time playing the game, but as your playing, try and see with your peripheral vision what your teammates are doing, a lot of the time they are making runs. as far as passing, it just takes practice. learn every type of pass. normal passing, holding the normal passing. through passing, lobbed through passing (although dont try the lob through pass in the rain, the first bounce will make it kick off the grass and it will shoot towards the goal line/keeper). dont be afraid to just pass it back to your defenders and reset. just keep practicing. eventually youll notice things come a little easier and easier. but like i said, this game takes a LONG ass time to get good at it. ive been playing since 08 and im still learning new crap literally everyday.

Dunno if anybody answered this already... manager menu > player contracts should show the length of deals, then click on the player to view his current per-match salary.

Getting the ball out of the air is extremely difficult. Believe it or not they actually made it easier from 09 because of all the complaints over it--but it is still next to impossible on the higher difficulty settings. I've stopped taking corners as a result. I just pass it into the nearest player and then try to work it towards the net. Usually if I kick a corner 1/10 will result in a header on net and 1/100 will be a goal. Also try to avoid launching the ball on goal kicks, just pass it up to your nearest defender and work it down field.

I'm starting to get used to it.. I swear though the effort the opposing team gives is so inconsistent. I can be up on Sunderland in the 85th minute 2-0 and all the sudden they charge back and it ends in a draw.. yet the very next game I go down to Man-U 1-0 in the 3rd minute then I'm thinking "SHIT!".. yet I win 5-1. Its so odd. Also Speeds maybe you have noticed too.. Is it just me or does Arshavin get knocked off the ball a hell of a lot easier than a Van Persie or Walcott? Actually even when I play as other teams (not usually) I notice he seems to be the only one who gets knocked off the ball so easily.

and DPC thanks for the Formation info.. I always tried new stuff but couldnt find one. But I went to a 4-3-1-2 after reading that and it seems to have made it a lot easier (although still difficult but at least enjoyable now lol). THANKS! repped!

Smaller players tend to get knocked easier I've found. Nasri, Walcott, and others get the same treatment.

Also, going to five defenders (5-3-2, etc.) if you are using a weak team on a high difficulty can make a huge difference.

weird I wonder if its the position I use Arshavin in then, Walcott seems to be able to take the pressing at least for me. maybe it just seems more with Arshavin cause is in that position for it to happen more than Nasri for me. I use Arshavin right behind Van Persie on the Left and Walcott on the right. although recently Van Persie got hurt in the game so I moved Arshavin up to the left and he scored 4 goals in 2 matches.. so maybe I bump Van Persie back when healthy.

My favourite formation with Arsenal is 4-1-2-1-2.

Almunia, Sagna (WB), Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy (WB), Song (CDM), Nasri (LM), Walcott (RM), Fabregas (CAM), Van Persie (CF), Arshavin (LF).

Its crazy--when you play with Arsenal you notice how deep the team is. You want to get guys like Bendtner, Diaby, Wilshire into the game but there is no playing time for them. If only they could keep the team healthy IRL they would be leading the league right now.

yeah totally! I was thinking about that last night. Although I do play Diaby a little more.. but that is one deep squad! I feel bad about the playing time but totally there is no way to play everyone.. but I also wont sell them or loan them cause it seems that Injuries happen quite a bit for me in this. Even though they are only 1 week injuries.

DPC you are seriously my hero.. since switching to the 4-3-1-2 its so much easier! I guess I just needed that facilitator and 2 strikers! although the last match being against West Ham might have had something to do with it. ;)
