If you tell anybody about Site A, Site B classifies it as "Spam" and the promotion is hidden away from everybody. Plus if the Supersonics forum is dead, why would a Sonics fan want to come post here when nobody on the site is interested in posting there. If you want to get new members then you have to balance out the posts and contribute to the activity of those dead team forums. Then you go get new members. You can't post everything in the Nets forum. Branch out to the other boards a bit and you might learn a bit about other teams and get a connection with them. The amount of unrelated or redundant threads in the Nets forum probably outweighs the threads from the intelligent posters that work hard to get some real Nets discussion going, that is relevent to the team. That's the problem. I have no problem with Nets fans, ou guys have a good fanbase and are clearly the strongest fanbase on S2, can you guys just tone it down a bit with the unrelated posts in the Nets forum or unneccesary posts and branch out to the other team forums or even NBA general to discuss. I don't see how you guys have to be a "community" when S2 is a community that has more dimensions and gives you the views from every angle rather than just the Nets fans P.O.V.

This will clarify our standpoint and hopefully show you why we do what we do, since I'll agree, it is a little odd. A whole bunch of us (KC, Dumpy, Petey, Ghoti, cpaw, et al) have been posting on and off in the same forums for years. Over that time (from my perspective) you get to know these dudes and actually want their opinions. Its not an elitist thing at all but there gets to a point where "Gerald Green is the BeSt DuNkEr in the league" crap gets really annoying (that was just an example, Im mainly talking about the younger primarily sportscentre/and1 type fans). Thankfully since my switch to S2 there isnt too much of that, but after a while one starts to question... "I have a good thing going here, why fix what aint broke?" Me personally I post here since I know any news I need to know, Netincome is already got it on lock. Any statistical or CBA stuff I dont immediately get, Dumpy and Ghoti will make it easier to digest and so on... The community is a little inward, granted, but it is a contributing reason to why I make to time to post on these boards instead of going to the beach more and chasing women... hahaha I see where you are coming from but I hope this clarifys a netsfan pespective...
It's not the posters' job to build up conversations around the site. It's my opinion that they shouldn't feel obligated to improve the size of another team thread, or anywhere really. The only stand I'll make is that for the sake of organization, if a thread isn't about the Nets, I'll move it to the Nets OT. Not because I don't think that general basketball talk can't be done so within this group (I, like downunder, have posted with this group for about 2 years), but by technicalities: If it's not about the Nets, then its technically off-topic (duh haha). Still, I don't see why anyone should be stopped from talking about whatever, whenever. If I wanna ask the usual Nets crowd what they think about NBA matters not pertaining about the Nets I should be able to do so; in the Nets folder but organized to keep Nets issues separated (since that's primarily what we're all here for).
I see where you guys are coming from now. It would just be better for me as an outsider coming into the forum to read and discuss the Nets, for the threads in the Nets board to be strictly Nets discussion.
