No, I mean that if Kobe isn't concerned about winning the MVP (it just came out in an article, maybe a week back?) then why should us fans be so concerned about it? So what if Nash gets his third MVP award, let Kobe prove it in the playoffs. Let him lead the Lakers deep, if he does that, everyone will know who the righteous MVP is.

I'm pretty sure he wants the MVP award, but it's not high on his priority. Personallly, I would be glad if Kobe wins, but I honestly don't care THAT much. Individual accomplishments are good, but team accomplishments are great</div>

    Look above.

I don't know what the thread poster is talking about. Lots of people have taken notice of Kobe this season. Almost everybody has him in their top 2-3, and I've seen other people name him the first half MVP. I personally think if the Lakers get 55+ wins, then he will get it.

<div class="quote_poster">Mamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I still don't see the big thing with Dirk. He's been playing like this for a few years now, why all of a sudden is it so great?</div>

Kobe was arguably playing better last year, but he's getting MVP consideration now because his teammates are better. That's how it always is. It's not just about how well you play; it's also how well your team plays. And right now, the Mavs are playing better than they ever have.

Also, Dirk's numbers have steadily improved for the last 3 or 4 years. His PER right now is a career high, after establishing a career high last year (and the year before). He is getting better.
