Of course. I just don’t get the Joe dislike? Jody and the Vulcans for sure, but Joe took a talented, overpaid, set in their losing playoffs ways and hit reset
Last I heard from Jason Quick, the Blazers haven't reach out to any of the mai agents who represent front office people, 6 months after Olshey was let go. If they were serious about finding a new GM to do a rebuild, it would've made sense to do it prior to the deadline. Why would you let an interim GM implement a plan that the next GM might be totally against?
maybe but if you're expecting a logical and traditional process from the Vulcans you'll be disappointed nearly every time
Maybe not many right now, but by the time this summer's over, we could have: Ant (20m?) Nurk (15m?) TPE acquisition (17-21m) Hart (13m) MLE acquisition (10m) Ingles (8m?) #6 pick (6m) Nas (4.1m) Winslow (4m) I'd say that'll be quite a few tradeable salaries by that point. Feels like we'll once again be in that "prime for a consolidation deal" position.
Well the point was about right now. Prime for consolidation but with fewer/less valuable assets to consolidate. That'll be fun.
True enough, and I did qualify my post with that fact. Just trying to look forward. I think that part's debatable. The FRP rookie will be arguably the most valuable trade asset we've had in half a decade.
Interesting thing....those on here that think we're heading in the right direction are expecting Nurk and Nas to stay healthy. Something neither has been able to do their ENTIRE career.
I'm not convinced Portland is heading in the right direction. I'm just glad they aren't heading in the wrong direction any more. 8 years of that shit was 5 years too long
They are getting the team ready for a sale. I bet Cronin stays interim GM until that's done, then the new owner will bring in a real GM. 1 year at least I bet.
What was the significance of the Denver Bronco up for sale? As it relates to the Trailblazers. Cant remember where I saw it but it mentioned they are watching how Broncos sale unfolds?
So instead of hiring someone who is qualified for the job, we're going to use a rookie GM who served under the schmuck that ruined the franchise in the first place. Brilliant!
I shouldn't be surprised anymore but I am always still dumbfounded when posters start trying to justify anything the Blazers do.
I guess it makes sense to keep him if they're trying to sell the team. But it really sucks for the fans, because this mother fucker is going to completely botch the rebuild at the pivotal moment in recent history. I'm going to guess they draft the BPA, keep Dame, and sell the team so that the next guy can hire their own GM and mold the roster how they see fit.
