Interest doesn't dry up so many days before deadline when 95% of the deals happen. This deal would be there any day of the week. It's not a coincidence everyone is saying Clippers hit the jackpot.
I get all of that, but what irritates me is that we made another team much better in the process, and didn’t get the return we could have for two starters. If the team that gets the better player always wins the trade, then the Clippers won twice.
“Good chance…” “We dont know yet if….” Yeah those mean the same thing…. lol. you been spreading alot of seemingly fake news lately…. Trump must be proud.
The things people get attributed to saying, versus what they actually say, has taken a serious beating on this board as of late.
i agree, but i think it hasn't been as of late. Its been since shortly after 2016. . Though it is getting considerably worse it seems. Almost as if they know, but do it anyhow on purpose.
The elephant in the room: there is one scenario where the Blazers' actions make sense. Jody, et al, have decided to move on from Dame. If they provoke Dame into demanding a trade it will decrease his value, but it also allows them to blame him when things go (even further) to hell.
I would bet a large sum of money that this is not the case. In fact, these moves actually point towards an owner who is trying to make sure she can pay Dame the super-max without totally breaking the bank from the tax standpoint.
Interest dried up on an 18 ppg scorer who shoots 40% from 3 and considered a decent defender, ummmmm no flipping way
The absolute horror. Jaynes was/is an Olshey shill, but that doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility.
Don't know if this was posted yet: Frank isn't going to come out and say "Wow we really killed it on this trade" but Andrew Greif: Lawrence Frank said he “never” thought it was realistic to get a player like Norm Powell, under a long-term contract of his skillset. “He’s such a prolific catch and shoot player.” –
Damn this trade is getting worse by the day. I know the Blazers can do whatever they want but man what if the NBA investigates them for malpractice or some shit. Something fishy is going on
If you have two players you plan on replacing for whatever reason, in this case cap flex, Simons, position improvement and you have targets before deadline and after season, they execute.
I don’t want to pay Lillard the super max. That would be so stupid and ruin our flexibility to put a team around him. Lillard’s best years are behind him but no one really wants to accept that.
Exactly. I'm loyal to the team, not a player. The best thing for our team is to get as many assets as we can for Dame, CJ, Nurkic, Nance and start over.
No one will ever convince me that’s the best we could’ve got out of trade combination of Norm and RoCo. Why make that shit trade so far in advance? Seems like a GM who’s a little wet behind the ears in negotiating.
Im not sure if his best years are behind him, hoping the surgery helps him, but i agree i dont want to pay the supermax. Maybe Dame is on board with a 3 year window rebuild and this is the first of many moves over the next year, so they are back to a winning team after next year, contenders the year after that. All with Dame sold on the Blazers doing what they need to do to bring in a new #1 option ( like chris paul has with booker) and Dame agreeing to not take a max to help make it all happen?
