Meyers contract isn't that bad dude. Seriously, go look at what some of the big men were getting paid over the summer.

And if he ever plays for a coach who realizes he's not a PF he might actually live up to his not-that-bad contract.

Edit: Okay, I took a look at BlayZa's avitar. Google says it's a pic of British model Cara Delevingne. BYW, BlayZa's profile says she's from New Zealand, not Australia.

I long ago learned that people using an avatar like that are apt to more closely resemble Danny Devito in both appearance and gender than the avatar they're using. But, let's hope for our imagination's sake that this isn't a case of false advertising.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
All big men aren't the same. It's not just what he's paid, it's also his ability on the floor. Right now, you could very easily make the argument that he isn't even NBA-caliber. He's terrible both offensively and defensively (his Offensive Rating and Defensive Rating are both awful). His scoring efficiency is atrocious and scoring is the only thing he can do. Let's boil that down further: the only thing he can do is shoot three-pointers and he's shooting .330 from three-point range. And before you say that's just temporary, his three-point shooting percentage has been trending downwards. In 2015, it was .420. Last year it was .377. This year, as mentioned, it's .330. Maybe .330 is temporary, but it's getting a lot harder to argue that he's a (functionally) elite three-point shooter (even if he has a great shooting motion and swishes twenty a row in practice).

When all you can do it shoot, and you're shooting .330 from three-point range, you're probably not an NBA player. Right now, he's a waste of a roster spot, not merely a backup making $10M/year. $10M/year for someone who may not even be a viable NBA player is a really bad contract.

I realize a lot of people are banking on his "potential," but he's 24 and not improving (in fact, getting worse). I don't think he's somehow being held back by Stotts--I think he's just a bad basketball player (by NBA standards, of course).

I'd like to see Zack Addy AKA @KingSpeed do this to Olshey.

Haha. In my experience the Aussies and New Zealanders are a fun lot and tend to have a pretty good disposition. Until you confuse one with the other. ;)

And New Zealand is one of the most geologically hazardous places on the planet.

So, may as well have a good time while they can, eh mate?

Really? We just bought tickets to go there but may have to change up the time of our trip. Any suggestions of places to visit? Starting off in Auckland.

Go. Enjoy. I hear it's amazing and beautiful. I mean, what are the odds? ;)

Hell, when the big one hits off the Oregon coast, and it will, those of us who are still around are in a heap of trouble too. (Get it? Heap?) :)

Didn't you hear? Fracking actually prevents earthquakes because it reduces the pressure that builds up underground. We're saved if there is oil and/or natural gas under the Oregon coast range.
