Your right, he’s as good a prospect as JO was coming outta HS. That’s why he was so sought after yesterday. I’m just saying you are wrong, teams tried to pry JO away from us as soon as he became a Blazer. It didn’t take no 3 years, we finally just caved cause trader bob thought we were a Dale away from a chip.

How much more damage will we permit Olshey to do before we storm his office and remove him from Oregon? Does anyone here have one of those lockable canopies on a pickup truck?

Judgement based on a random YouTube video are the more accurate. Far better then seeing the guy live with other college players. You are right.

He would get killed going up against Senior College basketball players. Don't delude yourself, please.

Yet players who are top 10 in their class usually dominate at the college level. Why wouldnt his skills translate?

So is @Gronk Brady still beating the Olshey drum even though he gave Olshey an A for his draft? Lol.

Indeed. The idea that Simons got torched by senior players during workouts but still got selected by Blazers is a far fetched one. He must have impressed.

I'm pro-Olshey and pro-Simons, but to be fair, we do know that Neil brought in a bruising guard who backed Simons in like crazy. Quick (I think it was Quick) asked Olshey about it, and he said that the bruiser could back in just about anyone, he just wanted
to see if Simons would compete or "give up." Neil was apparently happy with the effort (the outcome was immaterial).

You're kidding me, right? Going from High School to ANY kind of college level basketball is like going from driving a Ford Fiesta to driving a Ferrari 458. And never mind going into the pros.....that's the equivalent of an F1 car.

Yes, because work outs should totally be placed in the same category as a full on professional basketball game.

Come on man. I know you're smarter than this, Bones. Why do you like this kid so much? And more importantly, how much longer are we willing to give Olshey a pass for stupid drafting, no moves in FA, and terrible contracts?

Better question, why do you hate him so much when you admit you have seen very little of him?

I don't hate him. I hate the pick. We don't do well with projects of any sort, and he is a massive project.

And he's a fucking high school kid with no college experience. I shouldn't even have to justify my disdain for this pick based on that alone.

Olshey always does the very minimum job. He didn't trade up. He drafted a guard, the easiest position to find. He drafted a player who won't help for years. The word for anything Olshey does is "underwhelming." We could have no GM at all, and the clerks in his staff would get the same results.

    When I graduated HS at 16, I was 5'10, 105. When entered the Academy at 20, I was 6'0, 135. When I graduated at 23, I was 6'1, 160.

All these kids drafted were once high school kids and many of them the same age. He has been ranked very high for his age group as well and a full scholarship offer to a top college program. Rather than whine so much, why don't you at least wait and see.

That's really all we can do. I mean, it's not like Olshey has another plan for our future.
