Tonight I've been looking online for a good cheap 4K monitor/TV. This one 2 feet from my eyes is a 42 inch 1080, but it's 6 1/2 years old and suddenly got darker yesterday. There's a horizontal light streak in the middle, but I strain to read the rest. This looks interesting.

would you be buying it from Amazon?

I have an Amazon Prime account but I'l always hesitant to buy expensive big boxed items online in case there are problems. I like brick and mortar stores for that just to have the local return

Best Buy has it for the same price as Amazon

but I don't know anything about Hisense electronics. It has good reviews at Amazon, but I'd read a lot of them to be sure. I'd also check customer reviews at Best Buy

Yes, this Sharp which is dying, I was going to buy online. But then I spotted it at Best Buy and got it. Thanks for reminding me to check stores. I have to hurry. I can barely read this.

I'll take your word for it. As far as conversing with Marang, I've experienced (and heard, and seen) quite the opposite. Its not a me vs. him thing, it's a "If you disagree with Dan, he'll insult you and call you a neanderthal and a flat-earther" thing.

Here's the thing on Dan Marang. He gets it. He understands the business and the business model.
Honestly i used to think about the NBA much differently. Much like those on here that take this stuff to the next level.
I sat down and had an honest conversation with a player that played in the league for many years. He happened to be my boss. (Most can figure out who that is)
Since that day I have NEVER looked at the game the same way. The things he told me would astonish you. The ideas these people have on here are so far out in left field they wouldn't know what hit them if they actually knew the truth.
I have listened to Dan. He has actually said some of the exact same things that I heard that day. Until someone gets that awakening they will continue to make grand statements about what is actually just a huge "Entertainment" business that was created from a GAME.
Seriously this is a business created from a game and it's based on entertainment that a bunch of people make money off of.

So does this explain why we signed Melo, why Simons gets so many minutes and why we never signed a backup big, even on a ten day contract? :)

The funny part of that question is it probably does but because I'm not in the know I can't say one way or another. Rest assured if that question was asked of Olshey the answer most likely would be different than what the real reason is.

Ahhhhh yes, the old "you're not privy to what is being forced on the coaches" argument.

That's Danny's go to move when he has no retort.

You don't think coaches are ever 'forced' to play certain guys, or for how long, etc?

Look i know you think you are the cats meow and you have all of the answers Hoops but the fact is you don't.
Neither do I. Never have and never will. I do know what i was told about the game and i also know i trust what i was told.

I honestly do not know what Stotts is dealing with. I don't know what Olshey is dealing with. What's more is we rarely know what players are dealing with as well. I do love to discuss it as much as anyone but i now know it is purely speculation about a game that is being used for an entertainment business.

That is my stance and I'm gonna stick with it. These are people with real lives. They are not your possession and you don't get to have control. They are well versed on these issues and they have opinions just like everyone else.

A GM and coach should always be on the same page. Stotts is on record as not wanting to be involved in the draft or personnel decisions. It absolutely happens to where promises are given to signees (ie Melo).

The problem becomes when people excuse fixable coaching things with that reasoning. It's lazy.

For example, say Olshey promised Kanter and Melo playing time. That doesn't mean Stotts can't stagger their minutes so we don't have a poor defensive lineup out there. Or if Melo is promised touches why he has to get those touches posted up 20 feet from the basket instead of setting a cross screen that could get him set up closer to the basket or more open looks.

I’m not talking about “how to coach”, as much as who, how much, etc. Yes. Coaching them on how to defend a PnR, how and when to trap, X and O’s, maybe, maybe not. But for sure if a GM signs a guy and pays him a lot, he doesn’t want to look bad with that dude sitting on the bench.
